Kammila Naidoo teaches in the Department of Sociology. Her primary<br />

research interests are in qualitative studies of poverty and women’s<br />

lives in Southern Africa, the social aspects of HIV/AIDS and feminist<br />

theory and methodology.<br />

Jean Triegaardt<br />

Jean Triegaardt worked in the Department of Social Work, University<br />

of Pretoria from 1999-2005. She is presently employed as a 'policy<br />

analyst' at the Development Bank Southern Africa (DBSA).<br />

Jeanne van Eeden, University of Pretoria<br />

Jeanne van Eeden teaches in the Department of Visual Arts. She is<br />

particularly interested in the role of the entertainment and leisure<br />

economy in post-colonial South African visual culture.<br />

Karin van Marle, University of Pretoria<br />

Karin van Marle teaches jurisprudence in the Department of Legal<br />

History, Comparative Law and Jurisprudence. Current research is<br />

focused on feminine subjectivity, being, living and dying within a<br />

postapartheid context.<br />

Christo Venter, University of Pretoria<br />

Christo Venter teaches transport engineering and transport planning<br />

in the Department of Civil and Biosystems Engineering. His research<br />

interests include strategic transport and land-use planning, public<br />

transport, and social and economic impacts of transport systems. His<br />

current research work focuses on how movement systems can be<br />

better designed to meet the needs of a wide range of users, including<br />

people with disabilities and women.<br />

Stella Viljoen, University of Pretoria.<br />

Stella Viljoen lectures art history and contemporary popular culture<br />

in the Department of Visual Arts. Her field of interest is the point of<br />

intersection between (art historical) 'high culture' and mass culture,<br />

particularly within magazine discourse.
