Why Estevan?
Located in the South East corner of
Saskatchewan, Estevan is a corridor
for travel to and from the United States.
Hustling and bustling with economic
activity, the city has solid foundations of
a vibrant community. Estevan has
something for everyone, whether a pass
by traveler with only a couple of hours to
spend or the traveler with a couple of
days to take it all in, the young and the
young at heart will find different aspects
of the city, which will appeal to them. A
variety of attractions, events,
accommodations, restaurants and retail
shopping are bound to keep you
captivated.
Motor Sports
With 3 forms of motorsports, the Energy
City is the most appropriate title for
Estevan. These motorsports are a
testimony to the love affair the residents
of Estevan have with automobiles and
racing. Between the Estevan Motor
Speedway, Estevan Drag Racing
Association and Trackside MX, the races
provide a wide variety of options for
racing enthusiasts. For the ones who
haven’t been to races before, the
experience can be exhilarating.
Arts and Culture
In the midst of all the economic activity,
Estevan boasts of an arts scene which
is not to be missed. The Estevan Art
Gallery & Museum (EAGM) is a public
gallery that offers a free exchange of
ideas and perspectives to reflect
Estevan’s rapidly expanding social and
cultural diversity. The North West
Mounted Police (NWMP) museum is
located in close vicinity to the art gallery
and documents artifacts which hold
significance to the Mounted Police who
arrived in Estevan in 1874.
The Souris Valley Museum houses
various exhibits that reflect the rich
heritage and history of Estevan. The
museum provides guided tours of the
exhibits which include a cook cart and a
school house, dating back to the 19th
century.
Hunting & Fishing
The Estevan and surrounding area
boasts great opportunities for anyone
with the outdoors in mind. Hunting,
fishing and hiking are among the most
popular.
Each fall finds hundreds of area hunters
taking to the fields in pursuit of Whitetail
deer, Mule deer, Antelope, Moose and
Elk. There is also excellent water fowl
populations due to the healthy
watershed area and larger lakes like
Rafferty, Boundary and Alameda dams.
Fishing is also a favorite pastime in the
Estevan area. Rafferty, Boundary and
Alameda dams are excellent fishing
water bodies in the immediate area.
Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow
Perch are abundant in each water
body. Boundary Dam is also very well
known for it’s Largemouth Bass fishery.
This is the only location in Western
Canada where you can fight the mighty
Largemouth Bass and fishermen travel
for hours to enjoy the experience.

dedicated, knowledgeable and
passionate of individuals from the area,
who grew up here to show you around.
A variety of interests can be
accommodated including: Historical
sites, geological sites, industry sites,
natural sites, historical architecture and
museums. The tour costs a nominal fee
to cover transportation and can be
customized to accommodate time
constraints.
