perfect place and time to complete your
Christmas shopping.
The Homespun Pantry offers unrivalled
food items – soups, condiments, dips,
sweets (including Christmas cakes,
puddings & sauces), ethnic items –
something for every palate.
The 10th Annual Quilt Show held at
the Carlyle Memorial Hall Saturday (10
a.m. – 6 p.m.) and Sunday (11 a.m. – 4
p.m.) offers the perfect opportunity to
visit vendors for that perfect pattern or
piece of material for your special project.
Take time to view the beautiful quilts on
display, and to learn a new technique by
taking in a free demonstration or two!

The 5th Annual Show n’Shine held
Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 10
a.m. to 3 p.m. at Merit Ford (N of #9),
offers a great opportunity for car lovers
to view vintage and collectible vehicles.
This has been a great addition to the
Homespun ‘family’ of events!! And to
make it extra ‘delicious’, a noon BBQ is
offered by Carlyle’s Volunteer Firemen.
At the Carlyle Sports Arena, enjoy great
homemade food at great ‘homespun’
prices – hot soup, sandwiches, and
delicious pies and desserts – cafeteria
style. You needn’t leave hungry! A
pancake breakfast sponsored by the
Volunteer Fire Department and served
in a beautiful heated tent is a ‘must’ for
Saturday morning. Finish off the day
with ‘Supper in the Field’ ... enjoy a
beautiful Saskatchewan sunset as you
sit at gingham covered tables under the
‘big top’ and partake of a delicious BBQ
beef supper Saturday from 5 p.m. to 7
p.m.
You’ve shopped, you’ve visited, you’ve
eaten ... it just doesn’t get much better
than this!! Visit Homespun – ‘the biggest
little craft show in Saskatchewan’.

10th Annual Dickens
Village Festival, Carlyle
“Start off your holiday
season with a unique
experience – attend
Carlyle’s Dickens
Village Festival!”
Held the first weekend in December (Fri.
Nov. 30 & Sat. Dec 1, 2012), this event
is gaining popularity as a fun event to
attend. 2011 will be its tenth year of
turning main street Carlyle into a quaint
Victorian town from the era of Charles
Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.
To the best of our knowledge, Carlyle is
the only community in Canada that puts
on a “Dickens Village Festival”. People
dress in a variety of period costumes.
You might see Scrooge “Bah Hum
bug” you if you are enjoying yourself,
Father Christmas wishing you a Merry
Christmas and groups of Carollers
singing as they walk down the street.
Come and experience the High Tea,
horse drawn carriage rides, free entertainment
all day, street vendors selling food
and little urchins begging for money for
the poor! There will be a reading of the
Christmas Carol, a silent auction and An
English Market selling crafts and baking.
At 6 pm, a lighted parade makes it way
down Main Street (both evenings).
End off your day be enjoying a Comedy
Christmas Musical Drama production
put on by Cornerstone Theatre group.
Tickets for the three shows sell out fast,
so order your tickets early (contact the
box office after October 15 at 453-2411).
