SaskPower Tours<br />
As <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>’s supplier of electricity, SaskPower has a strong history in the province. In<br />
southern <strong>Saskatchewan</strong>, three SaskPower generating stations and one environmental operation are<br />
open to the public for tours. To learn more about these facilities, call any of the numbers listed<br />
below to book your tour.<br />
Shand Power Station<br />
Located 10 kilometres southeast of Estevan, Shand is named after the<br />
original coal mining settlement. Shand’s net generating capacity is<br />
276 MW.<br />

SaskPower Shand Greenhouse<br />
The Greenhouse uses waste heat from the adjacent Shand Power<br />
Station to grow almost 500,000 seedlings each year, which are used in<br />
community conservation projects and to reclaim disturbed lands.<br />
Tours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. For weekend tours,<br />

Boundary Dam Power Station<br />
Located 6.4 kilometres south of Estevan, SaskPower’s largest coal-fired<br />
power station has a net generating capacity of 828 MW.<br />

Poplar River Power Station<br />
Located 10 kilometres southeast of Coronach in south-central<br />
<strong>Saskatchewan</strong>, Poplar River Power Station has a net generating<br />
capacity of 582 MW.<br />
Tours: Tours take place at 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. from March through<br />
December. Call (306) 267-2078 one day in advance. Tours cover the<br />
power station and local coal mine.<br />
