Pure uranium can be used in low-temperature reactors. At approximately<br />

6600C its density <strong>and</strong> mechanical qualities change sharply.<br />

At higher temperatures uranium oxide <strong>and</strong> carbides, which have the<br />

best mechanical qualities, are used.<br />
