RECREATION BOND DEBT SERVICE State Law (59-2-911) allows taxing agencies to add a tax levy for the purpose of paying debt service payments and providing for a sinking fund in relation to voter authorized indebtedness. The revenues collected from the levy can only be used for the purpose which the levy was made. In 1996, citizens voted for the issuance of General Obligation Bonds ($18 million total) for the purpose of constructing recreational facilities. This Recreation Bond Debt service fund is used to account for the accumulation of resources and payment of the G.O.
