CAUCASUS UNIVERSITY ASSOCIATION AIMS
FOR THE SKY
Caucasus University Association, which became a global association
with nearly 60 universities from 12 countries, held its 3rd
Ordinary Congress in Baku on May 20-21. Founded in 2009 by
the Ardahan University with seven universities, the Association
has raised its number of members to 58 this year. The Caucasus
University Association gathered several high-level figures in
Baku.

TURKMEN GAS IS HEADING TOWARDS INDIA
First agreement on TAPI Natural Gas Pipeline was signed
on May 24 among Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and
India. It was decided that the gas produced by Turkmenistan’s
state-owned gas company Turkmengas will be transported to
India through Afghanistan and Pakistan in cooperation with
India’s state-owned company GAIL and Pakistan’s Inter State
Gas Systems company. It is announced that $7 billion dollars
will be spent for 15 year-old project TAPI pipeline. The project
is expected to become operational in Pakistan in 2016 and in
India in 2018.

2ND WORLD FORUM ON INTERCULTURAL
DIALOGUE WAS HELD IN BAKU

2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue was held in
Baku at the Heydar Aliyev Center on May 30. The Forum’s
slogan was “Living Together Peacefully in a Diverse World”.
At the opening ceremony of the Forum, Aliyev expressed his
gratitude for hosting the event in his country, and pointed out
that Azerbaijan is a cultural and geographical bridge between
the East and West. He stated that the presence of tolerance
and a high number of people with different religious beliefs
contribute to consistent development in Azerbaijan.
