“ENERGY AGENDA WITH
CEMIL ERTEM” BEGAN
BROADCASTING
With the program on Caspian TV
“Energy Agenda with Cemil Ertem”,
Dr. Cemil Ertem started to comment
on current developments in the energy
field, which began its broadcasting life
on August 5. Energy markets and the
latest developments in the energy sector
are analyzed during the program that
is broadcasted on Caspian TV on every
Friday.
ROSNEFT AND SOCAR SIGNED A
COOPERATION AGREEMENT
Two large state companies Rosneft and SOCAR signed the
cooperation agreement prescribing the exchange of assets and
working together in the joint ventures on August 13. Two companies
made a joint press statement and said, “The two companies
will collaborate on certain oil and natural gas exploration –
production projects in various countries including Russia and
Azerbaijan on the basis of parity.” It was also stated that “These
companies have also agreed upon collaborating on carrying out
marketing and commercial activities regarding the hydrocarbon
and petroleum products and also on operating major infrastructure
facilities such as pipelines and terminals.”
CASPIAN SUMMER SCHOOL
GATHERED TEN COUNTRIES
Caspian Summer School, held on August 18-28 by
Caspian Strategy Institute, gathered 22 experts, private
sector managers and academicians from 10 countries.
Young experts, bureaucrats, researchers and students from
Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldavia,
Russia, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and the USA participated
in the Caspian Summer School certificate program
organized for the first time by Caspian Strategy Institute
(HASEN). In the Caspian Summer School certificate program
held with the support of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of
Foreign Affairs Center for Strategic Research and the Turkish
Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), the participants
had the chance to perform analyzes on energy, foreign policy,
