PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS
Caspian Strategy Institute (HASEN)
announced the report titled “Eight
Candidates, One Vision: Presidential
Elections in Iran” with the presentation
of Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Şahin from Gazi
University, Department of International
Relations on June 7. The latest situation
in the country before the presidential
elections, election results, the effect of
the sanctions imposed on the country’s
nuclear activities were discussed at
the meeting. 8 candidates for the presidential
elections in Iran, the country’s
future prospects and the expectations
of the Iranian people were analyzed.
Also the challenges waiting for the new
president and the country in the field of
integration were given in the report.
STRATEGIC COOPERATION
BETWEEN KAZAKHSTAN
AND UZBEKISTAN
At the official visit of Kazakhstan’s President
Nursultan Nazarbayev to Tashkent,
capital city of Uzbekistan, on June
13-14, a strategic cooperation agreement
was signed. The ceremony held at the
Presidential House and the President
of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President

serious foreign problems that Ruhani has to deal
with. Since the 1979 Iran Islamist Revolution, Iran
is an isolated country regionally and internationally
and too much is expected from Ruhani with
regards to the ongoing problems of Iran.
