will further increase and he will protect the interests of the country. Aliyev
expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijani people who re-elected him as the
president, and stated that he will serve Azerbaijani people faithfully and
advocate the interests of the country.

CONGRESS WILL BE HELD IN
TURKEY

Turkey was competing with Astana,
Huston and Copenhagen for hosting
the World Petroleum Congress which
will be held in 2017 for the 22nd
time. The voting in Calgary, Canada
resulted with the victory of Turkey
which had been a candidate for three
times before. Tuncay Babalı, Turkish
Ambassador in Ottawa, stated that
“This is a very important organization.
It is a giant organization where all
countries and companies in the
petroleum sector will participate
in and 6-7 thousands delegates will
gather. Under the chairmanship of
Mr. Mercan, Turkey displayed an
exquisitely professional team work and
made great presentations.”
PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IN
GEORGIA
The Saakashvilli era ended after a
long period of time. According to
Georgian laws, it is forbidden to run
for presidential elections for three
times, and the candidate supported
by Saakashvilli lost the elections
which resulted in the victory of Georgi
Margvelashvilli. According to the
results, 67 percent of the votes were
in favor of Georgi Margvelashvilli who
was supported by the Prime Minister
Ivanishvilli. Margvalashvilli said, “I
would like to thank Mr. Ivanishvilli for
making this victory possible.”
