Item #O313 Successful and Growing Midwest Commercial <strong>Heat</strong> <strong>Treat</strong>er is looking for a<br />
hands on Maintenance Supervisor with 5-10 years of heat treat maintenance in a<br />
supervisory position from a Commercial or Captive <strong>Heat</strong> <strong>Treat</strong> Operation. <strong>The</strong> Maintenance<br />
Supervisor will be responsible for overall plant maintenance including supervision of<br />
technical staff, budget development and tracking, capital projects, equipment installs,<br />
development and tracking metrics for preventive maintenance program, and working with<br />
outside vendors to identify support resources for completing capital projects. This person<br />
will need to read and update blue prints to support equipment changes, modifications or<br />
plant layout to support manufacturing processes. You will work with reading diagrams,<br />
schematics or engineering specifications, <strong>The</strong> Maintenance Supervisor must know how<br />
furnaces work, atmospheres, and overall heat treat operations. Internal Quench,<br />
Endothermic gas generators ideal. This person will be responsible for the repair of<br />
equipment, electrical and mechanical, hydraulic and electromechanical. <strong>The</strong> Supervisor will<br />
maintain and record equipment preventative maintenance schedules on set intervals,<br />
pursue opportunities for continuous plant improvements and maintain a well organized<br />
maintenance/tool shop. <strong>The</strong>y will be responsible for long term planning and tactical/reactive<br />
issues as needed. <strong>The</strong>y will have to grasp the departmental responsibilities that affect scrap,<br />
rework, on time delivery, departmental wages, departmental profitability and overall<br />
effectiveness of the department. <strong>The</strong> Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for<br />
estimating time and material cost for repairs. Building maintenance, forklift operation and<br />
tool use are required. Good communication, record keeping and organizational skills a must.<br />
<strong>The</strong> ideal candidate will have welding and fabrication skills, and should have 5-10 years<br />
experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or Manager. <strong>The</strong>y should have experience with a<br />
good understanding in repair, assembly, disassembly, brazing, soldering, welding, installing<br />
equipment, maintaining, adjusting or lubricating machinery and controls, trouble shooting<br />
(locate, identify, diagnose, repair and test) with a Commercial <strong>Heat</strong> <strong>Treat</strong> company.<br />
Candidates can also be considered from Captive <strong>Heat</strong> <strong>Treat</strong> operations, within a<br />
manufacturing organization.<br />
For an ideal fit, the following items are desired.<br />
• Proven track record with managing / leading a multi person maintenance<br />
department.<br />
• Good understanding of a maintenance department budget and has managed their<br />
monthly budget effectively<br />
• Root cause analysis training. Can identify all possible causes of a problem and or at<br />
least lead his people to identify causes.<br />
• Understands a maintenance software package and has managed his department<br />
using one.<br />
• Has put together a comprehensive PM program and can show improvement over<br />
time.<br />
• Has great organizational and planning skills and has demonstrated that equipment<br />
break downs will not put his plans on hold.<br />
• Must demonstrate good communication skills by being clear and concise with his<br />
people, other departments, and the leadership team.<br />
• Able to mentor a team of 5 or less.<br />
• Excellent attendance required.<br />
• Can be a strategic leader, long term planning, ability to be tactical and reactive as<br />
needed.<br />
