Item # O318 Moog, Torrance Operations has a Heat Treat Operator opening. The
successful incumbent will have knowledge of heat treat processes which include
normalizing, stress relieving, nitrite processing, carburizing, hardening, tempering, freezing
and Rockwell testing. Incumbent will perform all loading and removing of baskets from
furnace using forklift or manual equipment. Able to gas quench or oil quench as required per
work instructions. Knowledge of AMS heat treat specifications, Boeing and NADCAP
specifications, familiarity with CMR lab requirements. Minimum of 3-5 years aerospace

Item # O317 Shift Superintendent Wanted. FPM Heat Treating is looking for a Shift
Superintendent. Work Hours: Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Part of Wednesdays 5:00
P.M. to 5:00 A.M. Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates all plant activities and
personnel during assigned periods in a customer focused and cost effective manor.
Job Duties: 1) . Ensures the plant is operated and staffed productively to meet customer
requirements. 2) . Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and assignments,
and expedites workflow. 3) . Issues written and oral instructions, and trains assigned
associates. 4) . Assigns job duties and tasks, and examines work product for uniformity,
neatness and conformance to specifications, procedures and policies logging nonconformance.
5) . Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiencies of
departments. 6) . Ensures customer promises are scheduled and met. 7) . Maintains
teamwork environment maintaining open lines of two-way communications and expedites
problem solving. 8) . Assists associates in performing job duties and task as needed. 9) .
Helps to maintain a safe and clean plant. 10) . Provides technical support to associates. 11)
. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
Job Requirements: 1) . High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. 2) . One to three years
supervisory and/or management experience preferred. 3) . One to five years heat treat or
other technical work experience preferred. 4) . Must be able to communicate, read, write
and speak in English; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Mathematical Skills: General math skills required for furnace set-ups. Reasoning Ability: 1) .
Must use common sense and capable of making quick, informed decisions. 2) . Must have
the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Other Skills and Abilities: 1) . Must be able and willing to lead, manage and supervise
associates in accomplishing the stated goals and objectives. 2) . Successful incumbent must
be a self-starter who is aggressive yet personable and willingly accepts responsibility. 3) .
Excellent time management skills required. 4) . Computer literacy is essential.
