Summary: Position manages relationships and customer service for accounts at the plant<br />

level including inside and outside sales. <strong>The</strong> incumbent will work with customers and plant<br />

personnel to establish production expectations. <strong>The</strong> Account Manager will work to cultivate<br />

new business opportunities, expand customer base and explore new markets. <strong>The</strong> Account<br />

Manager adds value to the plant by serving as the focal point for the cultivation, retention<br />

and expansion of business opportunities with customers.<br />

Requirements (Qualifications & Skills):<br />

• Education – College Degree Preferred.<br />

• Experience necessary – 3 to 5 years in sales, customer service or related field.<br />

• Language Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.<br />

• Physical Demands – Must be able to sit for prolonged periods. Travel to and from<br />

Customers is a necessity. Ability to function in an industrial and office setting.<br />

• Work Environment – Ordinarily an office environment however there are periods of<br />

time where individual may have to spend time in heat, noise, cold, etc., of industrial<br />

shop.<br />

• Other: Must be able to travel extensively, up to 50% of scheduled work hours.<br />

Overnight travel is not routine, but is expected when necessary.<br />

• Ability to quote pricing, manage expectations for process and delivery.<br />

• Exercise tact and ability to partner with customer to resolve issues.<br />

• Communication skills with employees at all levels to achieve goal of exceptional<br />

customer service.<br />

Special Skills:<br />

• Must possess or be able to develop a working knowledge of Company Quality<br />

system, procedures, project tracking, TS 16949, AMS and Mil Specs, process<br />

capabilities, competition capabilities, competition costing, general braze and heat<br />

treat processes, utilization, ESA/VSE procedures, proper planning practices,<br />

equipment capabilities.<br />

• Must possess or acquire a working knowledge of heat treatment.<br />

• Must possess or be able to develop a working knowledge of the Bodycote Quality<br />

Manual and Bodycote Policy Manual.<br />

• Must be able to effectively cultivate and develop customers from diverse<br />

backgrounds including small entrepreneurial businesses to large multinational<br />

corporations.<br />

• Receiving and responding to phone inquires from customers and potential customers<br />

• Sales calls on current and potential customers<br />

• Customer feedback interviews / surveys<br />

• Developing relationships with current / potential customers<br />

• Customer Service Inquires<br />

• Partnering with employees at the plant level to monitor progress of work to meet<br />

customer expectations<br />

• Project Management<br />

• Clarification of customer requirements<br />

• Performs other tasks as assigned<br />
