Summary:<br />
<strong>The</strong> Customer Service Manager will serve as the primary response for customer inquiries<br />
and will manage the customer expectations.<br />
Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):<br />
• Supervises the customer service and shipping/receiving departments.<br />
• Responds to identified customer complaints and requests for special handling service<br />
and quotes/inquiries regarding needs and services.<br />
• Responsible for review of customer purchase orders in respect to pricing, contract<br />
terms and conditions an account status.<br />
• Responsible for updating customers with job status.<br />
• Coordinates and expedites outside processing to meet customers' delivery<br />
requirements.<br />
• Manage customer’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI)<br />
• Recommends changes that will improve the accuracy of projected delivery of parts.<br />
• Interfaces closely with division Metallurgist, Sales, and Quality Manager during the<br />
quotation process regarding facilities and capabilities.<br />
• Assists the General Manager in obtaining settlements of customer claims and assists<br />
the Quality Manager in coordinating reworks.<br />
• Performs other duties as dictated by position or required by the General Manager.<br />
Requirements (Qualifications & Skills):<br />
• Bachelor's Degree Preferred<br />
• Must possess general metallurgical knowledge obtained through formal university or<br />
experience and training, and capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings.<br />
• Must have a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience. 5 years minimum, and<br />
practical knowledge of commercial heat treatment of aerospace alloys including<br />
steel, titanium, nickel, aluminum, brass, copper, brazing etc.<br />
• Must possess exceptional communication skills including the ability to explain and<br />
interpret complex scientific and engineering concepts.<br />
• Ideal candidate ahs working knowledge in Lean Practices & 5S Principles.<br />
• Requires ability to thoroughly learn the Company’s processes, capabilities,<br />
equipment availability and special processing requirements. Should also become<br />
familiar with other Bodycote operations.<br />
• Must be capable of providing customers with accurate prices of work to be<br />
performed, by reviewing technical drawings and estimating time required to fixture<br />
and heat treat parts.<br />
• Requires effective communication skills for interfacing with top management levels,<br />
shop supervision and customers.<br />
• Must be thoroughly familiar with commercial, aerospace, ASM, ASME and military<br />
specifications.<br />
• Must be possess exceptional customer service skills and be tactful, diplomatic and<br />
patient when interacting with customers.<br />
