Contractor shall have testing machinery/apparatus in his possession as mentioned on Page<br />

<strong>No</strong>.80.<br />

7.1 QUALITY CONTROL ON WORKS AND MATERIALS:<br />

The Contractor shall be responsible for the quality of the work in the entire construction work<br />

within the contract. He shall, therefore, have his own independent and adequate set up for<br />

ensuring the same. This shall include establishing field laboratory for testing required for<br />

works. The laboratory shall be equipped with the equipment’s and apparatus required for the<br />

testing. The list of various equipment’s/apparatus is enclosed on Page <strong>No</strong>.80 for information<br />

and guidance of the Contractor. These equipment’s shall be in working condition. The<br />

Engineer in charge of the work will verify these equipment’s in the laboratory at site. The<br />

work shall not be started unless and until the laboratory is equipped with equipment’s. (Ref.<br />

Page <strong>No</strong>.80)<br />

7.2 CO-ORDINATION:<br />

When several agencies for different sub-works of the project are to work simultaneously on<br />

the project site, there must be full coordination between the contractors to ensure timely<br />

completion of the whole project smoothly. The scheduled dates for completion specified in<br />

each contract shall therefore, be strictly adhered to. Each contractor may make his<br />

independent arrangements for water, power, housing etc. if they so desire. On the other hand<br />

the Contractor are at liberty to come to mutual agreement in this behalf and make joint<br />

arrangements with the approval of the Engineer. <strong>No</strong> Contractor shall take or cause to be<br />

taken any steps or action that may cause, disruption, discontent, or disturbance of work,<br />

labour or arrangement etc. of the contractor in the project localities. Any action by any<br />

Contractor which the Engineer in his unquestioned discretion may consider as infringement of<br />

the above code, would be considered as a breach of the contract conditions and shall be<br />

dealt-with accordingly.<br />

In case of any dispute of disagreement between the Contractors, the Engineer’s decision<br />

regarding the co-ordination, co-operation and facilities to be provided by any of the Contractor<br />

shall be final and binding on the contractors concerned and such a decision shall not vitiate<br />

any contract nor absolve the Contractor of his obligations under the contract nor consider<br />

from the grounds for any claim or compensation.<br />

7.3 TEMPORARY QUARTER AND SITE OFFICE:<br />

I) The Contractor shall at his own expense maintain sufficient experienced supervisory staff etc.<br />

required for the work and shall make his own arrangements for housing such staff with all<br />

necessary amenities. General layout plan for such structures shall be got approved from the<br />

Engineer-in-charge. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to get his lay out plan of<br />

temporary structure approved from the local competent authority.<br />

II)<br />

The contractor shall provide furnish, maintain and remove on completion of the work; a<br />

suitable office on the work site for the use of Executive Engineer or his representative. The<br />

covered area exclusive of verandah should not be less than 40.00 sqm. It may have brick<br />

walls and asbestos or corrugated iron roof, paved floor should be 45 cm. above ground level.<br />

He should provide latrines, urinals and keep them clean daily. This will be supposed to be<br />

included in his offer.<br />

7.4 PATENTED DEVICES, MATERIALS AND PROCESSES :<br />

When the Contractor desires to use any designed device, materials or process covered by<br />

letter of patent or copy right, the right for such use should be secured by suitable legal<br />

arrangement and agreement with patent owner and a copy of their agreement shall be filed<br />

with the Engineer-in-charge if so desired by the latter.<br />

7.5 WATER SUPPLY :<br />

Availability of adequate water for works and sources thereof shall be confirmed by the<br />

Contractor before submitting the tender.<br />

The Contractor shall make his own arrangements at his own cost for entering into contract<br />

with concerned authorities for obtaining the connection and carry the water upto the work site<br />

as required by him. The location of the pipe line with respect to the road shall be decided by<br />

Engineer-in-charge and shall be binding on the Contractor.<br />
