EPMC SERVICES FOR REWARI – KANPUR PIPELINE SPECIFICATION FOR PIPELINE HYDRO TESTING 11. POST-TEST REQUIREMENTS 11.1 De-Pressurizing Following satisfactory completion of both the strength and leak tightness tests, the pipeline test section shall be depressurized to a pressure equal to the static head plus 1 bar, thus preventing air entering the test section. The pressure let-down valves shall be opened slowly and depressurization continued at a rate that does not generate vibrations in associated pipe work. Under normal circumstances, no fittings of any type shall be attached to the pressure let-down valve. Should it be necessary to attach fittings or drain lines, they shall be adequately braced and tied down to prevent movement. The depressurization rate shall not exceed 1 bar/min until the section pressure has been reduced to 40 percent of the test pressure. Further depressurization shall then continue at a maximum rate of 2 bar/min. The arrangement of transfer of pressure from one section to other is as specified in Hydro testing procedure. Under no circumstances shall the test pressure be used for transferring water from one test section to another. The above requirements shall also apply when de-pressurizing the test section for rectification of damage/defects during the hydrostatic pressure test. 11.2 Documentation CONTRACTOR shall keep records of all parameters specified in this Specification during each particular testing operation. The hydrostatic pressure test records shall be reviewed by Owner's Representative at the beginning, at the end and at least once during each test. All recorder charts shall be signed by the test engineer immediately before being placed on and immediately after being taken off the recorder. All recorder charts taken during the hydrostatic pressure test shall also be signed immediately & before by the Owner's Representative. Upon successful completion of each hydrostatic test, section tests, pre-tests and assembly tests, a Hydrostatic Test Certificate (see Appendix A7) shall be completed and signed by the CONTRACTOR and OWNER Representatives. EPMC SERVICES FOR REWARI – KANPUR PIPELINE SPECIFICATION FOR PIPELINE HYDRO TESTING The CONTRACTOR shall compile a comprehensive Hydrostatic Test Dossier for each completed pipeline. The dossier shall contain a general introduction, all relevant pipeline data recorded during execution of each individual hydrostatic pressure test. The Hydrostatic Test Dossier shall contain, as a minimum, the following documents: • Test Procedure. • Originals of all recorder charts. • Records of all pressure readings taken. • Records of all temperature readings taken. • Volumes of water added and vented. • Instrument Test Certification. • Air content plots and calculations. • Pressure and temperature plots against time. • Pressure/temperature correlation calculations. • Details of line-fill treatment packages. • Scraper register for cleaning, gauging and filling. • Photographic record of the used gauging plates. • Leak locating (if carried out). • Scraper register for de-watering. • Details of line-fill water disposal. • Rectification records (if carried out). • List of all personnel on testing crews n:\513-mh-2145-rkpl\11 engineering\11.8 pipelines\06 spec\specification for pipeline hydrotesting\mh2145-c000- pl-spc-0011.doc MH2145-C000-PL-SPC-0011 RevA Page 47 of 71
