SPECIFICATION FOR PIPELINE HYDRO TESTING<br />

12.3 Hydrostatic Testing after Rectification of Damage/Defects<br />

Damage and/or defects detected during pre-cleaning, filling, gauging and pressure testing<br />

operations shall be located and repaired or replaced by the CONTRACTOR in accordance with the<br />

Project Specification for Pipeline Construction (Specification No. MH2145-C000-PL-SPC-0001). The<br />

proposed repair and / or replacement procedure shall be verified by the CONTRACTOR and<br />

approved by the OWNER when the actual defect conditions are known. Damage/defect shall be<br />

rectified as per approved repair procedures.<br />

Following <strong>com</strong>pletion of the repairs, the testing operation interrupted for the repair works shall be<br />

repeated in accordance with all requirements of this Specification until the hydrostatic test has been<br />

successfully <strong>com</strong>pleted.<br />

The CONTRACTOR shall keep <strong>com</strong>plete and <strong>com</strong>prehensive records of all damage/defects<br />

identified and the subsequent repairs carried out.<br />

The damage/defect records shall include, as a minimum, the following details:<br />

(i) Exact time/date, location, type and cause of the defects and/or failures.<br />

(ii) Method of repair used.<br />

(iii) Equipment, materials and personnel utilized.<br />

The damage/defect records shall be submitted to OWNER as part of the final Hydrostatic Test<br />

Dossier.<br />

All defective materials such as pipes, fittings and valves which have failed during pressure testing<br />

and subsequently been replaced, shall be clearly marked, labeled and quarantined. The label shall<br />

clearly state the location, from where it came and the cause of failure. Such material shall be held in<br />

quarantine by the CONTRACTOR until the means of disposal has been agreed with the OWNER.<br />
