Marc Balaÿ has more than 15 years’ experience in real estate<br />

with expertise in customer relations. Defining real estate<br />

strategy, key development projects, asset management<br />

and working with investors are his main abilities. He was<br />

previously <strong>the</strong> regional director <strong>of</strong> Jones Lang LaSalle in Lyon<br />

before becoming Directeur Général Adjoint for SOGELYM<br />

STEINER in 2000. He has been a Member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board <strong>of</strong><br />

Lyon since 2003.<br />

Charles Balch has been working within <strong>the</strong> property financing<br />

sector since <strong>the</strong> mid-1980s. In charge <strong>of</strong> Origination <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

European Platform, he is currently Managing Director, Europe<br />

and heads <strong>the</strong> Structured Finance and Investment Banking<br />

Team for Europe at Hypo <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Bank International.<br />

His previous role at Aareal Bank was as Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>Global</strong><br />

Clients, building a multi-cultural acquisition team, and as<br />

a ‘Bereichsleiter’ within <strong>the</strong> Head Office, managing certain<br />

country teams.<br />

Mr. Balick is Managing Director for Cargill Value Investment.<br />

Based in Paris. Mr. Balick is responsible for real estate<br />

investments in France, Italy and Belgium. Prior to joining<br />

Cargill Value Investment in 1997, Mr. Balick was Vice President<br />

in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Investment Banking unit <strong>of</strong> Salomon<br />

Bro<strong>the</strong>rs covering France, Belgium, Spain and Portugal.<br />

Mr.Balick received an MBA with specialization in Finance from<br />

<strong>the</strong> Stern School <strong>of</strong> Business at New York University and a<br />

Bachelor in Ma<strong>the</strong>matics from <strong>the</strong> Courant <strong>Institute</strong> at New<br />

York University.<br />

Fabio was born in 1958 in Milan. He received a degree in<br />

Business Administration from Bocconi University and started<br />

his career in banking in 1983. In 1997 he joined RHEINHYP,<br />

later merged into EUROHYPO, and opened <strong>the</strong> Italian Branch<br />

in Milan. It became one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most important branches<br />

inside <strong>the</strong> bank, involved in all <strong>the</strong> most important deals <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> italian real estate market. He is Vice President <strong>of</strong> AICI<br />

- Italian <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Advisors Association, member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Board<br />

<strong>of</strong> CNCC - Italian Shopping Centers Association, member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Scientific Committee <strong>of</strong> Expo Italia <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong>.<br />

Juan has always been closely related to <strong>the</strong> real estate sector<br />

in Spain and in <strong>the</strong> US. Analyst at Arthur Andersen <strong>Real</strong><br />

<strong>Estate</strong> and <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Investment Mgr in Principal Financial<br />

Group. He became a Mortgage Manager at Aareal Bank in<br />

2000 and now GM in Spain. Aareal bank is a real estate<br />

specialist providing property financing solutions in over 20<br />

countries - portfolio <strong>of</strong> Euro 25,000m. He studied at <strong>the</strong><br />

Universidad Pontificia de Comillas a Degree in Law and in<br />

Business Administration, Major in Finance. Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> <strong>Real</strong><br />

<strong>Estate</strong> Finance in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Master Program <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

INSTITUTO DE EMPRESA - IE business school for six years, he<br />

participates as a pr<strong>of</strong>essor in <strong>the</strong> real estate program <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Options & Futures <strong>Institute</strong> since 2004.<br />

Roger Barris is a Managing Director and <strong>the</strong> European Head<br />

<strong>of</strong> Merrill Lynch’s <strong>Global</strong> Principal Investment (“GPI”) group.<br />

Roger joined GPI in May 2005 from Starwood Capital, where<br />

he was <strong>the</strong> partner in charge <strong>of</strong> Europe. Prior to Starwood,<br />

Roger was <strong>the</strong> European Head <strong>of</strong> Deutsche Bank’s <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong><br />

Opportunities Group. Prior to DB, Roger was <strong>the</strong> head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

Mortgage Desk for Goldman Sachs in Europe.<br />

Andrew Barrow is a senior partner at Travers Smith, one <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> City <strong>of</strong> London’s leading law firms, specialising in <strong>the</strong><br />

investment and development <strong>of</strong> all kinds <strong>of</strong> commercial real<br />

estate. Recent deals include <strong>the</strong> acquisition <strong>of</strong> Woolgate<br />

Exchange and Minster Court in <strong>the</strong> City <strong>of</strong> London, <strong>the</strong><br />

development <strong>of</strong> London’s Swiss Centre and <strong>the</strong> Victoria Square<br />

Shopping Centre in Belfast and various transactions in Paris,<br />

Amsterdam and Germany.<br />

Mo Barzegar is Managing Director - Europe for San Franciscobased<br />

AMB Property Corporation (NYSE: AMB). He has<br />

overall responsibility for AMB’s business in Europe, including<br />

acquisitions, development and operations. Prior to this he<br />

served as AMB’s Director <strong>of</strong> International Acquisitions,<br />

overseeing AMB’s international acquisitions in Mexico, Europe<br />

and Asia. Barzegar has been working in <strong>the</strong> institutional real<br />

estate industry since 1987 and has acquired and sold in<br />

excess <strong>of</strong> $2.0 billion <strong>of</strong> industrial, <strong>of</strong>fice, hotel and apartment<br />

properties.
