CREATORS OF THE SUMMIT MICHEL KOCH managing director IXIS CIB HAKAN KODAL general manager YAPI KREDI KORAY REIC Michel holds a degree in law, he is a graduate of IEP Paris and the Institut de Droit des Affaires. Mr Koch has served in the real estate sector throughout his career, holding posts such as real estate developer, investment manager, asset manager and real estate financing specialist in French and international institutions. Mr Koch served at Groupe Hypo Real Estate as chairman of the Board of Hypo Real Estate Capital France SA from October 2000, before joining IXIS CIB in February 2005 to create and manage the Real Estate Finance business. Hakan Kodal is the General Manager of Yapi Kredi Koray, a leading REIT listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, active in Turkey and Romania. Before joining the company in 1997, Mr. Kodal has worked as Corporate Finance Manager at Garanti Investment Bank, Istanbul, and held various positions at Coopers & Lybrand in Paris, in management consultancy and corporate finance. Founder Chairman of the National Association of Turkish Real Estate Investment Companies (GYODER), he has been Chairman of GYODER between 1998-2002. He is also the Chair of Urban Land Institute (ULI) Turkish District, and ULI European Steering Committee member since June 2003. MICHAEL KRÖGER head of international re finance HELABA - LANDESBANK HESSEN-THÜRINGEN MATHIAS KULKE director of institutional business HENDERSON GLOBAL INVESTORS Michael Kröger is an educated lawyer and worked as a real estate banker for many years. His responsibilities in Paris, Berlin and Frankfurt included lending to German and international funds, investors and developers. Until recently he was with a German real estate bank and his role was to build up the bank’s HQ-based Nordic Markets team and later a key account management. Since this year he is heading the origination team “Northern and Central Europe” at Landesbank Hessen-Thueringen (“Helaba”) in Frankfurt, Germany. Since January 2002 Mathias was “Head of European Distribution of Global Property Products”, in 2005 he raised to “Director of Institutional Business” at Henderson Global Investors for the marketing of global property funds to institutional clients in Continental Europe. Before joining Henderson Global Investors Mathias worked for Deutsche Grundbesitz Europa KAG (DB Real Estate) in Frankfurt where he was in charge of conception and the sales of restricted property funds. Mathias graduated at Passau University, Germany and at the Sid Craig School of Business, Fresno, USA, in business economics. CHRISTOPHE KULLMANN président du directoire FONCIÈRE DES RÉGIONS HEINZ JOACHIM KUMMER real estate partner FRESHFIELDS BRUCKHAUS DERINGER Christophe Kullmann has spent his whole career in the property sector: Finance Director of Immobilière Batibail and in 1999, Finance Director of Gécina. In 2000, he became Finance Director of Batipart, the family holding company set up by Mr. Charles Ruggieri, whom Christophe had worked with throughout his career. In 2001, he was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of Foncière des Régions. As of 31st Dec 2005, Foncière des Régions Group owns a diversified property portfolio valued at Euro 6.7 bn. Heinz Joachim Kummer has been a partner of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1993 and is in charge of the Real Estate Practice Group. Heinz Joachim specializes in complex real estate transactions and all types of other real estate investment work. Portfolio transactions and developments as well as financing and the tax structuring of real estate investments are a focus of his expertise. In the past year alone, he has advised on real estate transactions amounting to roughly Euro 4.3bn. His clients include ABN AMRO, AMB Generali, AXA Property Trust, The Black-stone Group, Deutsche Land plc, Cerberus, Gerling Group, HSBC, IXIS AEW Europe, MSREF, Westbrook Partners and WestLB. MAKSIM KUNIN vice president MORGAN STANLEY AREF LAHHAM managing director ORION CAPITAL MANAGERS Maksim joined Morgan Stanley in 2005. In his position, Maksim is involved in a variety of principal transactions primarily in Russia and across Central and Eastern Europe. From 2003 to 2005, Maksim was the Head of Real Estate of Fleming Family and Partners. In this capacity, Maksim completed the first institutional investment transactions in Russian real estate market. From 1999 to 2002 Maksim worked at LaSalle Investment Management (New York and London) with the main areas of practice in portfolio management, asset management and asset sales. Mr. Kunin received his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Corporate Accounting from William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration, University of Rochester. Mr. Lahham has 18 years of real estate investment and development experience in the United States and Europe. Prior to forming Orion, he was with LaSalle Partners where he was a key leader in the development of LaSalle’s European operations in the early 90’s. In 1994, Mr. Lahham opened LaSalle’s office in Paris and was head of LaSalle’s investment and corporate activities in France until 1999. In 1999, Mr Lahham founded Orion Capital Managers with Mr Bossom and Mr Stults. Mr. Lahham leads the acquisition activities of the Orion Funds in Europe and has been responsible for over Euro 2 billion of property acquisitions throughout Europe.
MICHAEL LANGE chairman, russia & cis JONES LANG LASALLE MASSY LARIZADEH marketing director europe GE REAL ESTATE EUROPE Michael Lange founded the leading Real Estate Advisory and Investment firm Jones Lang LaSalle in Moscow, Russia, during the early 90’s. Next to his general management responsibilities he is directly overseeing and involved in the Capital Market, Corporate Finance segment, Strategic Consulting activities, and is an integral part and driving force behind Moscow, Russia’s growth in the office, Retails and Light Industrial fragment. Mr. Lange has been a recognised Board Member of the different regions and business lines within Jones Lang LaSalle and has served on several accounts as an active Non-Executive Director of leading Corporations. Massy is Marketing Director for GE Real Estate Europe, based in Paris, covering the growth strategy in new markets and new asset classes, and marketing and communications across our European operations. Massy joined GE’s Commercial Equipment Finance group in 1996 focusing on international acquisitions and growth opportunities across the European leasing markets. Massy left GE in 2000 to join a technology start-up in the UK. She then rejoined GE Real Estate in 2004. Massy holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Insead. ROBERT LAURENCE chief executive RESOLUTION PROPERTY PLC JÉRÔME LE GRELLE directeur général france RODAMCO EUROPE Robert co-founded Resolution Property Plc in 1998 and as Chief Executive of Resolution he is responsible for company strategy, performance, and property investment activity. Resolution is backed by some of the foremost US universities and foundations, US and European private equity investors and pension funds. The company has invested in retail, office and industrial assets, completing landmark acquisitions such as the purchase of Greater London House in Camden, the Water Gardens in Harlow, the Forge Shopping Centre in Glasgow, the Ridings Shopping Centre in Wakefield and a major retail park portfolio throughout Sweden. Resolution has recently completed over Euro 300m of out of town retail acquisitions in Spain, Portugal and Germany. Jérôme Le Grelle is a graduate of Sciences Politiques in Paris. He began his career at Bouygues and then Kaufman & Broad. After 18 years of real estate experience he managed the worldwide real estate portfolio of LVMH an Séphora and joined the company Rodamco Europe in France in 2002 as Managing Director. PHILIPPE LE TRUNG analyst CITIGROUP LLOYD LEE managing director STARWOOD CAPITAL EUROPE LTD Philippe is a Director at Citigroup Investment Research, heading the Pan-European real estate sector team. He has extensive experience in the real estate sector in Europe, previously with JP Morgan. Before that, he covered European real estate at ABN Amro. Citigroup Investment Research Team ranked number 3 in this year’s Institutional Investor All Europe Research Poll. In France, Philippe was individually ranked number 1 Stock picker and number 1 Estimator in the Real Estate industry according to StarMine Analyst Award 2005. Mr. Lee runs the firm’s London office and has been involved in the development and execution of Starwood’s overall European investment strategy. Since opening the office in 2003, he has worked on over US $4 billion of transactions in Europe. He currently sits on the Management Board of Starwood’s UK, French and German joint venture partnerships. MARKUS LEININGER head corporate banking cee EUROHYPO AG DR STEFANIE LEITER director ARCHON GROUP Markus Leininger joined Rheinhyp in 1995 and started his career in the International Property Lending Department (UK, Netherlands, Scandinavia). In mid-1997 he took over responsibility setting up the Central European Property Lending Division. After opening offices in Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary, he managed a team which concentrates on financing of all types of large commercial properties (Retail, Offices, Hotels and Distribution Warehouses) in the region. In 2001 he was managing the set-up process of Rheinhyp’s operations in North America. Since EUROHYPO’s merger which took place in September 2002 he is heading the Central and Eastern European Property Lending Division (incl. Austria). Dr. Stefanie Leiter joined Archon Group Germany (a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs) in 2004. As a director of financing she focuses on the financial restructuring of residential housing companies worth over Euro 2 billion and portfolio transactions. Prior to joining Archon Stefanie worked for KanAm Group in internatonal acquisitions and portfolio management. Major acquisitions include: Winchester House in London and The Evening Star Building in Washington, DC. Stefanie started her career in 1988 in construction lending at Citibank, New York. Stefanie holds a PhD in Law from Karl-Franzens University Graz, Austria, and an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.
