CREATORS OF THE SUMMIT ARTHUR DE HAAST global ceo JONES LANG LASALLE HOTELS JEAN DE POURTALES managing director GOLDMAN SACHS INTERNATIONAL Arthur de Haast is Global CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, responsible for an international team some 160 professionals worldwide. Arthur has extensive experience within the global hotel market, having been involved in, or having led, a wide range of both advisory and transactional assignments. In 2005 the Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels team closed on over 100 transactions selling more than 30,000 rooms to a value of in excess of US$8 billion in 72 cities worldwide. In addition the team provided advisory and valuation expertise on 139,498 rooms to the value of US$31.8 billion across 265 cities. Jean manages European investments for REPIA, London. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1988 as a Mergers & Acquisitions analyst. In 1992, he helped start PIA in Europe, and transferred to his current position in 1998 after two years in Corporate Finance building our leveraged finance presence in France. Jean became a Managing Director in 2000. Jean earned a BA with honors in politics, philosophy and economics from Merton College of Oxford University in 1988. In May, 2005 was appointed Managing Director of Shurgard Europe. Prior to joining Shurgard he worked with KPMG as a Senior Auditor from 1993 to early 1997. Peter Denton is a Managing Director and Co-Head of European Debt Capital Markets Origination at Eurohypo. This includes CMBS origination for Eurohypo’s “Opera” conduit and the provision of on balance sheet structured finance. Peter has been with Eurohypo since 2002. He joined the company in 1998 and is now responsible for the company’s overall development activities in Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania and Slovenia and is spearheading their expansion into Serbia, Ukraine and Russia. He has actively participated in all the company’s development transactions to date amounting to more than Euro 1.5 billion in value. The Company’s pipeline of developments now exceeds Euro 2.5 billion in 11 countries. Prior to this, Jordan worked in Montreal for the NYSE listed Trizec Properties for 5 years where he managed a portfolio of office buildings in Canada. Clemente Di Paola is the General Manager of Investire Immobiliare SGR SPA. He set up the Company five years ago with Finnat Euramerica Bank. Investire Immobiliare SGR S.p.A. is one of the largest Real Estate Fund Management Company in Italy. Clemente, after having acquired, managed and closed two residential real estate funds (Euro 1Bln of property assets), is also responsible for the management of the first real estate investment Fund promoted by the Republic of Italy, known as FIP with a property value of Euro 3.7Bln. He has a broad range of real estate experience acquired primarily at the Bouygues Group, where he was Sales and Marketing Director of the office development division and at Archon, a subsidiary of Goldman Sachs, where he led the team in charge of development transactions. He has been in charge of Real Estate and Expansion at Casino since 2003 and has now been appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mercialys. HUGH ELRINGTON partner PENSUS LLP FRANK FORSTER associate BLACKSTONE GROUP Hugh is one of the founding partners of Pensus LLP, a recently launched co-investing advisory company. The company focuses on the retail, office and industrial sectors in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Prior to setting up Pensus LLP, Hugh was a Senior Director at CB Richard Ellis (CBRE), responsible for its EMEA Cross Border Investment Team. Hugh also spent just over four years in Paris with CBRE, responsible for foreign investment into France. Since joining Blackstone in 2003, Mr. Forster is part of Blackstone’s real estate investment team in Europe, where he has been involved in a variety of real estate classes, including the Euro 1.3 bn acquisition of a group of companies in the German residential real estate sector, where he remains involved in developing the estate further. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Forster worked at JPMorgan, where he was an Analyst in the Corporate Structured Finance and Real Estate Structured Finance groups. He was involved in a UK whole business securitization and various real estate financings.
