Eric Martin-Impératori is a partner with Gide Loyrette Nouel,<br />

graduate <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> University <strong>of</strong> Paris, and member <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Paris<br />

Bar. Eric specialises in planning and construction law,<br />

acquisition <strong>of</strong> real estate portfolios, commercial leases and<br />

related litigation. His clients include major retail centres and<br />

outlet villages, hotel groups, property companies, banks and<br />

investment funds. With respect to commercial leases, Eric<br />

advises widely in relation to lease negotiations relating to<br />

commercial centres and <strong>of</strong>fice premises.<br />

John McCarthy joined Lehman Bro<strong>the</strong>rs <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Private<br />

Equity team in June 2005. In his role as Managing Director,<br />

responsible for <strong>the</strong> Asset Management <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> European<br />

portfolio, he oversees <strong>the</strong> management <strong>of</strong> approximately<br />

Euro 10 billion <strong>of</strong> assets across three funds. Prior to joining<br />

Lehman, Mr. McCarthy was a partner at O’Connor Capital<br />

Partners (Co- General Partner <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Peabody Funds), and Co-<br />

Head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> European business. Before this, John was with GE<br />

Capital for 17 years, with 12 years in <strong>the</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> group.<br />

Mike McNamara is <strong>the</strong> Partner in charge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong><br />

Finance team within Ernst & Young’s <strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Group in<br />

London. Mike has managed a wide variety <strong>of</strong> real estate<br />

related transactions in <strong>the</strong> US, Canada and Europe including<br />

debt and equity raising for specific projects, arranging entity<br />

based finance, disposing <strong>of</strong> portfolios <strong>of</strong> properties and debt,<br />

leading large corporate structured sale and leaseback deals,<br />

troubled debt restructuring and negotiating joint ventures.<br />

After working with Hines in Chicago and London, followed by<br />

several years at Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Funds, Markus<br />

joined his family firm, MAB, a European mixed-use developer<br />

and investor, as CFO. Amongst o<strong>the</strong>r achievements, he<br />

managed <strong>the</strong> sale <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> majority <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> business to ABN<br />

AMRO. In December 2004, Markus co-founded Meyer<br />

Bergman, a European real estate investment management<br />

firm with <strong>of</strong>fices in London, <strong>the</strong> Ne<strong>the</strong>rlands and Luxembourg.<br />

Meyer Bergman currently controls an investment and<br />

development portfolio valued at Euro 2.5 billion. Markus has<br />

a Law Degree from Leyden University and an MBA degree<br />

from INSEAD.<br />

Steven K. Meyer is President and Chief Operating Officer <strong>of</strong><br />

ProLogis Europe and serves on <strong>the</strong> company’s management<br />

board. He is responsible for managing in excess <strong>of</strong><br />

seven million square meters with a total investment value<br />

<strong>of</strong> approximately Euro 4.5 billion. His duties include <strong>the</strong><br />

development and acquisition <strong>of</strong> distribution facilities in <strong>the</strong> 13<br />

countries in Europe in which ProLogis is represented. Prior to<br />

assuming his European position, Steve Meyer was Managing<br />

Director with responsibilities for ProLogis’ Central Region,<br />

consisting <strong>of</strong> primarily Texas, Colorado and Mexico. He has<br />

over 25 years <strong>of</strong> experience in <strong>the</strong> real estate industry.<br />

Robert is a Principal at Macquarie Capital Partners Ltd where<br />

he has overall responsibility for <strong>the</strong> EU investment banking<br />

activities <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> firm. Prior to joining MCP, Mr. Meyer was<br />

an Executive Director in <strong>the</strong> investment banking division <strong>of</strong><br />

Morgan Stanley where he was responsible for all RE activities<br />

in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Prior to Morgan Stanley,<br />

he was a Senior Vice President with Security Capital Markets<br />

Group Ltd; and, earlier in his career, he was in <strong>the</strong> debt capital<br />

markets group at J.P. Morgan. Mr. Meyer received his M.B.A.<br />

from <strong>the</strong> Harvard Graduate School <strong>of</strong> Business Administration<br />

and an M.A. in Jurisprudence (law) degree from Oxford<br />

University. Mr. Meyer is also approved as an Investment<br />

Advisor by <strong>the</strong> FSA.<br />

Managing Partner Benson Ellitot, Marc was until recently, <strong>the</strong><br />

Managing Director <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> $2.0 billion (assets) Doughty Hanson<br />

<strong>Real</strong> <strong>Estate</strong> Fund, one <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> most successful private equity<br />

real estate funds in Europe. Marc began his European real<br />

estate career in 1990 with Goldman Sachs (London), following<br />

four years on <strong>the</strong> investment team at Chicago-based JMB<br />

<strong>Real</strong>ty. In 1993, Marc established <strong>the</strong> real estate and hotel<br />

investment unit at <strong>the</strong> EBRD. Marc holds a BS degree from<br />

Wharton and an MBA from Kellogg.<br />

Based in Paris, Mahdi is Head <strong>of</strong> Research and Strategy at IXIS<br />

AEW Europe (IAE), a leading real estate investment managing<br />

company, with euro 13.2 billion AUM. His responsibilities<br />

cover market coverage, publications, investment underwriting<br />

and strategic portfolio design. Prior to joining IAE, Mahdi was<br />

with IPD as Director <strong>of</strong> Research covering France, Spain and<br />

Portugal. Mahdi was Associate Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> economics and<br />

finance, UCP and ESSEC. He holds a PhD in finance from<br />

EHESS, is President <strong>of</strong> AREIM (<strong>the</strong> French real estate research<br />

association), and co-chairs <strong>of</strong> INREV’s Research Committee.
