CREATORS OF THE SUMMIT SIMON HAMPTON managing director BANK OF AMERICA NEIL HASSON chief investment officer CITIGROUP PROPERTY INVESTORS Currently Head of Bank of America Securities, Real Estate Investment Banking group in Europe, Simon has been working in investment banking for fourteen years. He has a wide range of experience involving advisory roles with clients in the Real Estate, Lodging, Gaming and Leisure industries as well as both debt and equity capital raising. Simon has been with Bank of America Securities for eight years and previously with Natwest Markets/Greenwich Natwest. Neil joined Citigroup Property Investors (“CPI”) in February 2005 as Director and Chief Investment Officer for the CPI Capital Partners Europe Fund, prior to which Neil was a successful private real estate investor. Previously, Neil was Head of European Real Estate for DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners (“RECP”), a US$660 million real estate opportunity fund managed by Donaldson, Lufkin and Jenrette. Neil joined DLJ as a Managing Director in New York in January 1995, where he was one of three founding partners of DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners. Neil moved to London in 1998. Prior to DLJ, Neil was a Vice President at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and Chief Financial Officer for the Whitehall Funds. JOHANNES HAUG managing director DEKA IMMOBILIEN INVESTMENT GMBH DIETRICH HEIDTMANN executive director MORGAN STANLEY BANK AG Johannes Haug is a Member of the Board of Management at Deka Immobilien Investment GmbH. His responsibilities include acquisition, asset management and disposition of Deka Immobilien’s international real estate portfolio. Before joining Deka Immobilien in 1999, Mr. Haug worked for seven years with the US based international development company, Hines, where he acted as Project Manager. His career began as an architect working for several architecture firms both in Germany and the US. Mr. Haug initially studied architecture at the University of Stuttgart, obtained a Masters degree in Architecture in the USA and subsequently added a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia to his credentials. Dietrich Heidtmann is an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley and joined Morgan Stanley in 1993. He is co-head of the Real Estate Private Capital Markets activities in Europe and the Middle East. In this role he is coordinating capital raising and banking activities with institutional investors as well as assisting in the acquisition activities of Morgan Stanley’s proprietary property funds from this group of clients. He led the effort to establish Morgan Stanley’s real estate KAG in Germany, Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investment GmbH, and is a member of its Supervisory Board. He graduated from University of Mannheim (Germany) as a Diplomkaufmann (MBA) in 1988. FRIEDRICH HEILMANN real estate partner FRESHFIELDS BRUCKHAUS DERINGER BENOÎT HERAULT managing director GOLDMAN SACHS INTERNATIONAL Friedrich Heilmann is a partner in the Frankfurt office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He leads the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group in Germany and Austria. He is also the deputy leader of the Global Real Estate Group. Benoît is a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs and is the European Chief Financial Officer of the Whitehall funds. He joined Goldman Sachs in 2000 as a Vice President and became Managing Director in 2002. Prior to joining the firm, Benoit worked as a lawyer for Gide and as a directeur general for Archon Group France. Benoit earned a MBA from HEC in 1989. He became a lawyer at the Paris Bar in 1992. MIGUEL HERNANDEZ director AVENUE TWC THOMAS HOELLER executive board member PRAMERICA REAL ESTATE INVESTORS (EUROPE) AG. Miguel is co-chairman of Avenue TWC, a company with expertise in the fields of City Branding, City Management and Urban Regeneration. He is an architect and urban planner specialising in leading multi-disciplinary teams and providing integrated, broad based solutions for a variety of complex design and planning projects. From 1997 to 2005 he was Partner and Director of Aguirre Newman´s Town Planning Department, where he was responsible for developing over 200 projects. He is also Director of the Advanced Program on Real Estate Company Management, of the leading European business school, “Instituto de Empresa”(Madrid- Spain). Thomas Hoeller is one of the Executive Board Members of Pramerica Real Estate Investors (Europe) AG (formerly TMW Immobilien AG) in Munich. Mr. Hoeller is mainly responsible for Pramerica’s European activities and has been in charge of setting up Pramerica offices in Europe. Mr. Hoeller has lived in New York from 1980 to 1991, where he was involved in syndicating properties to German investors. Mr. Hoeller has a BA from the University of Economics in St. Gallen, Switzerland and an MBA in International Studies from the Vienna School of Law and Diplomacy, Austria.
MARCELO HORCEL managing director GE REAL ESTATE IBERIA TONY HORRELL ceo european capital markets JONES LANG LASALLE Marcelo is responsible for growing GE Real Estate’s presence in Italy, Spain and Portugal. Previously, he was GM of GE Commercial Equipment Finance in Mexico where he was a key contributor to the growth of the business. He joined GE in 1997 and has extensive international experience having worked in the USA, Brazil, Canada, France, Mexico and the UK. He holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance and International Business from Columbia Business School, U.S.A. Tony Horrell is an International Director and CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Capital Markets group. With 24 years of industry experience, he leads the European Capital Markets business - encompassing over 260 professionals across 19 countries - which, in 2005 completed sales, acquisitions and finance transactions worth Euro 22 billion. Previous experience includes a number of years working in the City of London office market. He holds a BSc from the University of Portsmouth, an MBA from the University of Buckingham and has been a member of RICS since 1985. JAVIER HORTELANO managing director REDEVCO SPAIN & PORTUGAL HARVINDER HUNGIN executive member mgmt board CHELSFIELD PARTNERS Javier currently holds the position of Managing Director, Redevco Spain and Portugal (Redevco is a property company specialized in development and asset management of retail properties). 2000-2003 Managing Director VastNed Retail Spain and Portugal. 1993-2000, several positions held within the real estate subsidiary of Carrefour Spain. Last position held within the company, Director of Shopping Centers. A former investment banker with Lazards, Hambros and SG, he teamed up in 2003 with Elliott Bernerd to lead the £2 billion take private of Chelsfield, the UK property investment and development group, which was subsequently on-sold. Chelsfield Partners was formed in 2005, backed by Bank of Scotland, Olayan Group and Bank of East Asia amongst others. Chelsfield Partners is an entrepreneurial investor in equity and assets and developer of major schemes in all property sectors throughout Europe. NASSAR HUSSAIN managing director MERRILL LYNCH INTERNATIONAL ULRICH HÖLLER ceo DIC DEUTSCHE IMMOBILIEN CHANCEN AG & CO KGAA Nassar is responsible for Merrill Lynch’s CMBS, real estate syndication, real estate loan and B note trading business in EMEA as well as undertaking loan origination for key clients. Nassar has worked on a wide range of real estate backed transactions including securitisations, warehousings, term loans, acquisitions and disposals of commercial and residential real estate assets, businesses and loan portfolios. Nassar has executed numerous financings in the bond market, the commercial paper market and the bank loan market, and has completed transactions in numerous European jurisdictions. As CEO of Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co. KGaA, Ulrich is responsible for the implementation of the DIC Group’s corporate and real estate strategies in their three business areas: Portfolio and Asset Management with DIC Asset AG which is listed on the stock exchange, Project Development and Opportunistic Investments. Mr. Höller has over 15 years of professional experience with 12 years in leading positions as MD of a German Real Estate group. A Business Administration graduate, Mr. Höller also completed postgraduate studies in Real Estate Economics and Retail Sector Real Estate at the Real Estate Academy of the European Business School (ebs) and is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in London. STEPHAN HÜSSEN managing director FOM REAL ESTATE GMBH LUIS IGLESIAS md head europe re acquisitions JP MORGAN FLEMING Since 2006, Stephan Hüssen is Executive Partner of FOM Real Estate GmbH, Heidelberg. After studying law at the universities of Göttingen and Bonn, he was working as International Operations Manager for an Automotive Supplier. From 1993 - 1997, Stephan was General Counsel and Managing Director of the real estate branch of Brau & Brunnen AG. For the last 12 years Stephan Hüssen has been working for the executive board of different real estate companies, amongst others SIREO Real Estate GmbH (a joint venture of Deutsche Telekom AG, Morgan Stanley and Corpus Real Estate Group). Luis Iglesias, Co-Head of European Acquisitions, European Real Estate Group, JPMorgan Asset Management. Luis is a member of the Investment Committee and is responsible for acquisitions in the UK and Southern Europe for JPMorgan’s European Property Fund. Luis holds an MA degree from Oxford University in Modern History and Economics.
