7: Adding rule-based content<br />

One of the most powerful features of <strong>Web</strong>Sphere <strong>Portal</strong> and <strong>IBM</strong> <strong>Web</strong> <strong>Content</strong> <strong>Manager</strong> <strong>is</strong> the ability to<br />

dynamically deliver personalized content for a specific user, or to d<strong>is</strong>play content based on a predefined<br />

rule. In th<strong>is</strong> part of the course, you will learn about different methods of delivering rule-based content.<br />

Lab 7.1: Creating a user name component<br />

In th<strong>is</strong> lab you will create a user name component. Th<strong>is</strong> will be used to d<strong>is</strong>play different information to<br />

anonymous users and authenticated users.<br />

Lesson 7.1.1: User name components<br />

Your website can be configured to be viewed by both anonymous and authenticated users. You might not<br />

want to expose all your content to anonymous users. <strong>The</strong> user name component allows you to store<br />

different markup for anonymous and authenticated users. When referenced on a page, the markup that <strong>is</strong><br />

d<strong>is</strong>played will depend on whether the user <strong>is</strong> authenticated.<br />
