Objectives<br />

In th<strong>is</strong> lab you will learn how to:<br />

v Create a site map using a navigator component<br />

v Reference the navigator component in a presentation template<br />

Lesson 6.1.1: Navigator components<br />

Navigators present the logical arrangement of a predefined section of a site framework, usually in the<br />

form of links.<br />

<strong>The</strong> navigator <strong>is</strong> configured by selecting a start area and determining a child depth, a parent level, and a<br />

sibling value relative to the start area. Possible start areas are site areas or content items. <strong>The</strong>re are also<br />

options to determine whether the start area <strong>is</strong> to be d<strong>is</strong>played, whether content items are to be d<strong>is</strong>played,<br />

and whether the hierarchy from the start area to the current site area should be expanded. A set of<br />

element designs <strong>is</strong> used to format the information for each branch of a navigator.<br />

Task 6.1.2: Create a site map navigator<br />

In th<strong>is</strong> exerc<strong>is</strong>e you will create a navigator that will be used to d<strong>is</strong>play a map of your site.<br />

Procedure<br />

1. Click New > Component > Navigator.<br />

2. Type Nav - Sitemap in the Name field.<br />

3. Use the settings shown in the following table.<br />
