Gould League Walk<br />
Old Burwood Post Office, Burwood Road (near Railway Pde)<br />
Although the Gould League was founded at Wellington Public<br />
School in 1910, three of its longest serving CEO’s lived at<br />
Burwood and used their own houses as the League’s HQ.<br />
The latest of these, Mr Walker was the Headmaster at<br />
Burwood Public School until 1962. As well, their first Patron,<br />
Peter Board, the Director-General of Education also lived<br />
at Burwood. The two hour walk starts at the State-Listed<br />
Old Burwood Post Office, near the similarly listed Railway<br />
Station. Close to Burwood Railway Station and Burwood Plaza<br />
Shopping Centre. Bring a hat, sunscreen and walking shoes.<br />
