established bush regeneration areas, rain gardens and<br />

A demonstration of the Dictionary of Sydney: an inventive<br />

use of new information technology for collecting and<br />

disseminating historical information and the stories that have<br />

made Greater Sydney what it is. This will be followed by an<br />

introductory workshop on the fundamentals of writing for<br />

digital, on-line history projects such as the Dictionary.<br />

The Glebe Society’s innovative suite of self-guided walks<br />

showcasing Glebe’s history and heritage can be accessed via<br />

www.glebewalks.com.au. Modern Glebe has retained many<br />

of its grand Victorian homes, Federation houses and modest<br />

workers’ cottages. These contribute to the unique character<br />

of the suburb. You can view the walks on our smart phone or<br />

tablet, or take a print version. Six walks cover social history,<br />

pocket parks, early architects, foreshore walk, Victorian<br />

streets capes and geology of Glebe.<br />
