Lindesay was the first Gothick house to be built in Australia<br />
by colonial treasurer, Campbell Drummond Riddell. It set<br />
the trend for the Victorian Gothick revival in Australia. Tours<br />
will be given at 11am, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Refreshments<br />
available. Wheelchair access on ground floor.<br />

contributions to Australia’s history of invention and innovation.<br />
From cement works to early bush gardens learn more about<br />
Warringah’s inventive past. On display in the Local Studies<br />
room during library opening hours. 10am to 9pm Monday to<br />
Friday, 10am to 4pm Saturday and 2pm to 5pm Sunday.<br />

Are you being served The story of Woollahra’s entrepreneurs<br />
behind the rise of Sydney’s department stores.<br />
Woollahra Local History Centre, Hugh Latimer Centre,<br />
Sherbrook Avenue, cnr William Street and New South Head<br />
Road<br />
Department stores were an international retailing trend of the<br />
19th century, and Sydney was not left behind the rest of the<br />
world, with Welsh immigrant David Jones leading the local<br />
charge. Many of the men behind these innovative businesses<br />
were residents of Woollahra and this display looks at these<br />
retail entrepreneurs, the empires they founded, and their lives<br />
and homes in Woollahra. The display is only available during<br />
the opening hours of the Local History Centre which are:<br />
Mondays and Tuesdays 10am-5pm Thursdays and Fridays<br />
10am-2.30pm Wednesdays and weekends closed.<br />

“The Pines”, 656A Old Northern Road<br />
Visit an 1856 Colonial Homestead lived in by the Roughley<br />
family for five generations. Step inside time capsule rooms<br />
to view original contents and see a great example of how<br />
from humble convict beginnings the Roughleys have lived and<br />
prospered in the hills district. Limited onsite parking available<br />
and restricted wheelchair access.<br />
