Jens Frederiksen: Plateau Inventor
Crawford House Museum, 10 Wardell Road
Photographs, texts and family possessions will tell the story of
this enterprising local farmer who in 1914 developed a hydroelectric
plant on Youngman’s Creek at Rous Mill. This plant
was to supply electricity to his dairy, saw bench, nut hacker,
corn thrasher and eventually five homes for a period of 40
years. Not a bad invention for a young man who had been an
illegal immigrant. Crawford House Museum is open on Fridays
from 10am to 4pm and Sundays from 1pm to 4pm.
13 - 29 April 10am - 4pm
