Museum depicts the history of Eden’s old Catholic Church<br />

circa 1860’s and the involvement of Saint Mary MacKillop<br />

and the use of the building as a school. It also details the<br />

wreck of the Ly - ee - Moon in 1886 and the drowning of<br />

Mary’s mother, Flora, in the disaster. Open daily - seven days<br />

per week.<br />

Mr Hume conducts tours of his family home built in 1857.<br />

The home is set in six acres of gardens/lawns and visitors<br />

experience living history amidst unique collections of victorian<br />

and colonial furnishings and family memorabilia in original<br />

settings. Stately rooms where little has changed in 140 years<br />

- still in use today. Off street parking in grounds available for<br />

cars and coahces.<br />

“Artware to Utility”<br />

National Museum of Australian Pottery, 76 Albury Street<br />

For Heritage week the National Museum of Australian Pottery<br />

is hosting a short term exhibition titled “Artware to Utility”<br />

and launching a book of the same title, which is the story<br />

of Modern Ceramic Products. The exhibition will contain 50<br />

pieces of pottery produced by the Sydney company between<br />

1945 and 1965. The book is available at the museum for<br />

$75, discounted during Heritage week (14 – 29 April)<br />

to $70 plus postage. Further details can be obtained at<br />
