Museum in Farrer Place on Saturday 14 April at 12noon.<br />

A combined Open Day for the Queanbeyan Museum and the<br />

Printing Museum featuring a display from the Canberra and<br />

District Historic Engine Club, musical entertainment, food,<br />

guided tours, and an invention trail through the Queanbeyan<br />

Museum. A lively and entertaining day for all the family to visit<br />

and enjoy Queanbeyan’s Museums.<br />

Stage two of Queanbeyan Museum’s Storage building and a<br />

new easy care heritage garden will be launched. The launch<br />

will feature a talk by the building architect Peter Overton and a<br />

display of low maintenance gardening tips from Queanbeyan<br />

City Council Parks and Gardens.<br />

Museums. Learn what a wide variety of work is done by<br />

volunteers - there is something for everyone! Talk to our<br />

volunteers, and find out how satisfying the work is - we are<br />

active and can do people! Includes a guided tour of the<br />

museums.<br />

Queanbeyan Printing, 20 Farrer Place<br />

Take a guided tour of Queanbeyan’s unique Printing Museum.<br />

One of the few museums that has fully operational printing<br />

machines dating back to the late 1800s. You can take a<br />

fascinating journey thorough the history of newspaper printing<br />

in Queanbeyan and see these magnificently restored printing<br />

machines in full operating mode. The Museum is open on<br />

Saturdays and Sundays from 2pm to 4pm. The Museum will<br />

be open on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the Heritage<br />

Festival from 2pm to 4pm. Other tours can be arranged upon<br />

request.<br />

Robertson Heritage Railway Station Inc.<br />

Railway and Rural Innovation<br />

Robertson Heritage Railway Station, Yarranga Street<br />

Visit one of the last and best railway station complexes<br />

featuring the innovative precast concrete panel construction<br />

in use early last century and learn how, when and why it was<br />

employed. The modified ‘Per way shed’ exhibits will include<br />

a former track maintenance vehicle and fettlers’ tools from<br />

the past. On the adjacent railway common will be a working<br />

display of old farm machinery as well as vintage and classic
