or invent what they do not have or cannnot buy. Ingenuity is<br />

not confined to the past - this exhibition shows the ongoing<br />

resourcefulness of the people of this outback mining town.<br />

The popular Thursday Growers Produce Market in Harbour<br />

Drive will host a day long heritage stall highlighting the work<br />

of the CHCC Heritage Executive Committee. We will be giving<br />

away free information and advice on heritage sites and<br />

buildings, brochures, leaflets, technical bulletins, post cards<br />

and copies of our self- guided heritage walks.<br />

Who’s buried in your backyard<br />

Coffs Harbour - Cavanbah Hall, Harbour Drive<br />

This talk, by a member of CHCC’s Heritage Executive<br />

Committee will focus on an ongoing research project that<br />

investigates the pattern of burials on private lands in Coffs<br />

Harbour Area. Researching this project has uncovered<br />

(pardon the pun) some interesting and colourful stories, some<br />

tragic, others inspirational. Held in conjunction with the talk in<br />

Coff Harbour’s Heritage: Busting the Myths, light refreshments<br />

will also be available.<br />

This talk by CHCC’s heritage advisor, will explore the history<br />

of Coffs Harbour through the legacy of its built heritage.<br />

Taking in surviving buildings, streets and landscapes, as well<br />

as historic images, discussion will centre on the types and<br />

themes within Coffs Harbour’s built heritage and new ways<br />

of looking at the history of Coffs Harbour. Held in conjunction<br />

with the talk entitled ‘whos buried in your back yard’, with light<br />

refreshment provided.<br />

Coramba Town Heritage Week<br />

Hampden Hotel, Gale Street<br />

As one of the earliest townships on the Coffs Coast, Coramba<br />

has a rich and interesting history. This walk is the launch of<br />

the third self-guided heritage trail that the CHCC’s Heritage<br />

Executive Committee has developed, exploring the historic<br />

settlements of Coffs Harbour and its surrounding villages.<br />

Bring a hat, sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes and a<br />

water bottle.<br />

Our Innovative Dairy Industry/ Opening of new museum<br />

Cundletown Hall, cnr High & Main Streets<br />

The official opening of the new museum will take place<br />

9.30am. Innovations and Inventions relating to the Dairy<br />

Industry and Associated Industries. Demonstrations of butter<br />

and ice cream making using 100 year old equipment will be<br />

held during the day. Light lunch, morning tea available for<br />

additional fee and wheelchair access and parking available.<br />
