hand, CVC students are all settled in the healthy average range according to the Beck
levels. Therefore, whilst anxiety is reported to be decreasing which is very positive,
some students, particularly those at The Centre School, are still functioning with
elevated anxiety levels.
6.4.3 The Beck Disruptive Behaviour Inventory for Youth: descriptive statistics
The results from the short-term follow-up data for the BDBI are similar to the BAI
and show 100% improvement.

The scores between the groups are comparable, as shown in table 6.4a.III (in
appendix 6.4a), because the groups share a similar standard deviation (group A =
6.29; group B = 5.12) and all students perceive an improvement. Figure 6.4b.vii in
appendix 6.4b shows that scores are also comparable between schools: all students
recorded improvement in their behaviour.
6.4.4 Long-term follow-up data
The fourth wave of data collection created a long-term follow-up data set for group A
as it was a year after those students had finished music therapy. The data were
