Up to eight Wiegand signaling readers can be directly wired to the WPSC<br />
using the <strong>apC</strong> internal power supply. If you exceed the rating of the <strong>apC</strong><br />
power supply, you will need to power the readers locally.<br />
• Case A powers all readers with +12 VDC from the <strong>apC</strong> supply.<br />
• Case C powers all readers with +5 VDC from the <strong>apC</strong> supply.<br />
• Case B powers all readers from an external supply through P9.<br />
Note:<br />
The external power supply must be a UL Listed Access<br />
Control (or Burglar Alarm), Class 2, power source.<br />
Caution: To avoid damage to connected readers, make sure that the<br />
P3 power jumper is set correctly for your reader voltage before you<br />
apply power to the <strong>apC</strong>/<strong>8X</strong>.<br />
