金 般 的 黃 沙 吹 過 眼 簾 , 眨 了 一 下 眼 睛 , 彷 彿
流 看 到 了 新 沐 後 的 埃 及 艷 后 , 芙 蓉 般 款 款 地 從
神 廟 外 那 座 石 池 走 上 來 。 她 抬 起 頭 來 , 望 向 神 廟
── 彷 彿 與 她 深 邃 的 眼 神 對 視 , 心 裏 一 動 , 回 神 ,
眼 前 仍 舊 是 黃 沙 漫 漫 ── 石 池 已 空 , 只 留 下 池 壁 滿
滿 的 棕 櫚 樹 和 吹 過 二 千 多 年 的 風 沙 聲 。 走 到 宏 偉
的 哈 索 爾 神 廟 外 , 埃 及 艷 后 和 她 兒 子 ── 末 代 法
老 王 「 小 愷 撒 」── 巨 大 的 浮 雕 赫 然 出 現 在 高 大
的 石 牆 上 , 不 禁 想 起 張 衡 《 東 京 賦 》:「 望 先 帝
之 舊 墟 , 慨 長 思 而 懷 古 。」 經 過 了 二 千 多 年 的 歲
月 更 迭 , 人 事 已 非 , 神 廟 依 舊 ── 宏 偉 、 莊 嚴 。
這 座 歷 經 二 千 多 年 風 霜 仍 舊 屹 立 不 搖 的 神
廟 , 祭 祀 著 哈 索 爾 ── 一 位 古 埃 及 女 神 , 代 表
著 愛 、 幸 福 、 母 愛 、 療 癒 及 富 裕 。 走 進 神 廟 ,
沿 著 幽 暗 的 長 廊 , 看 著 兩 側 牆 上 的 壁 畫 , 猶 如
一 部 圖 畫 史 書 。 看 著 看 著 , 這 些 雕 刻 在 牆 壁
上 的 人 好 像 走 了 出 來 , 帶 我 們 回 到 了 二 千 多 年
前 , 訴 說 著 古
埃 及 文 明 的 點
點 滴 滴 。 抬 頭
看 , 神 廟 的
天 花 板 定 格
住 了 古 埃 及 神
話 的 天 空 ──
夢 幻 般 的 天 藍
色 和 金 色 的 圖
像 , 告 訴 我 們
日 夜 的 興 衰 與
輪 迴 : 哈 索
爾 的 母 親 天 空
女 神 , 每 天 傍
晚 , 必 會 吞 噬
Did Cleopatra look out from this spot in
Dendera’s Temple of Hathor at the sacred
lake below Perhaps. Our Egyptian guide tells us
she loved bathing in the rectangular stone pool,
now empty but for palm trees growing within its
walls. Carved on an outside temple wall, there’s
a large bas relief of Egypt’s last Pharaoh and her
son, Caesarian, fathered by Julius Caesar — one
of the few surviving depictions of Cleopatra.
Built between 125 B.C. and 60 A.D., the temple
was dedicated to Hathor, the cow-headed
goddess of love, happiness, motherhood and
healing. The ceiling is intricately painted with
fantastic azure-and-gold images of the sky goddess
Nut (Hathor’s mother) swallowing the sun,
a winged disc, each evening and giving birth to
it again each dawn. A crypt, which we enter by
