China’s military generals changed history era after era, leaving legends behind
them. They endured the battles, were loyal to their kingdoms, wise and brave.
They mastered warcraft and understood the hidden designs of fate. Listen carefully
and you can almost hear the horses galloping across the battlefields.
China’s Virtuous General
The Chinese classic, The Art of War, thus defines a great general: “... the skillful fighter puts
himself into a position which makes defeat impossible, and does not miss the moment for
defeating the enemy.” Li Jing, a renowned general, helped establish the Tang Dynasty through
decades of military exploits, mastering the arts of surprise, timing, and seizing opportunity.
出 奇 制 勝 進 退 有 度
《 孫 子 兵 法 . 軍 形 第 四 》 中 曰 :「 故 善 戰 者 , 立 於 不 敗 之
地 , 而 不 失 敵 之 敗 也 。」 大 唐 名 將 李 靖 戎 馬 一 生 , 就 是 這 樣
一 位 以 用 奇 兵 著 稱 , 擅 長 把 握 戰 局 時 機 的 傑 出 軍 事 家 。
