張 開 雙 翅 的 太 陽 金 輪 ,
隔 天 黎 明 , 又 再 度 從 懷
中 誕 生 太 陽 。 看 過 了 屬
於 神 永 恆 的 輪 迴 轉 生 ,
再 來 看 到 的 是 屬 於 人
的 生 老 病 死 : 我 們 來 到
了 療 養 院 的 泥 磚 遺 蹟 ,
上 面 還 擺 放 著 病 人 等 待
祭 司 治 病 的 長 椅 。 古 代
的 埃 及 人 把 病 癒 的 希 望
寄 託 於 神 和 神 的 代 言 人
── 祭 司 。 很 多 人 甚 至
留 在 神 廟 過 夜 , 只 為 了
求 得 女 神 賜 與 治 癒 頑 疾
的 一 夢 。
沿 著 尼 羅 河 從 亞 斯
文 坐 遊 輪 到 底 比 斯 , 沿
岸 可 以 看 到 一 座 座 古 老
神 廟 靜 靜 地 矗 立 在 蒼 茫
的 沙 漠 中 , 散 發 著 令 人
震 撼 的 神 秘 之 美 。
我 們 來 到 了 底 比 斯 古 城 , 眼 前 是 威 嚴 肅 穆 的 卡 納 克
神 廟 。 這 座 祭 祀 太 陽 神 阿 蒙 . 拉 的 神 廟 , 在 沙 漠 中 屹 立
了 3,500 多 年 , 見 證 了 30 位 法 老 王 的 更 迭 興 衰 。 卡 納 克 神
廟 是 全 世 界 佔 地 最 廣 的 聖 地 ( 超 過 60 英 畝 ), 裏 面 到 處
是 獅 身 人 面 像 、 方 尖 碑 、 神 社 和 法 老 王 的 巨 大 雕 像 。 特
別 引 人 注 目 的 是 哈 特 謝 普 蘇 特 女 王 的 方 尖 碑 ,29 米 高 的
方 尖 碑 由 一 塊 重 量 超 過 320 噸 , 完 整 的 粉 色 花 崗 岩 雕 刻 而
成 。 這 塊 近 十 層 樓 高 的 花 崗 岩 , 來 自 數 百 英 里 外 亞 斯 文
露 天 礦 場 , 更 增 添 了 一 抹 不 可 思 議 的 神 秘 色 彩 。 走 進 大
柱 廳 , 眼 前 赫 然 出 現 了 高 大 無 比 的 擎 天 巨 柱 。 每 根 巨 柱
有 七 層 樓 高 , 直 徑 3.57 米 , 可 容 納 100 人 站 立 在 上 面 。 放
眼 望 去 ,134 根 巨 柱 密 集 而 森 嚴 的 立 在 大 廳 中 , 直 是 震 人
心 魄 。
接 下 來 參 觀 了 醫 療 之 廟 ── 康 孟 波 雙 神 殿 。 我 們 順 著
導 遊 指 的 方 向 看 過 去 , 令 人 訝 異 的 是 , 牆 上 的 浮 雕 竟 刻 著
手 術 剪 、 解 剖 刀 、 牙 鉗 等 , 旁 邊 還 刻 畫 了 兩 個 女 人 坐 在 分
娩 椅 上 的 場 景 。 最 後 來 到 了 學 習 之 廟 ── 埃 德 富 神 廟 。 看
著 廟 內 牆 壁 刻 的 銘 文 , 還 有 學 習 建 築 和 工 程 的 學 生 , 不 禁
讚 歎 要 留 下 這 數 千 年 的 文 明 , 是 怎 樣 浩 大 的 工 程 ── 究 竟
在 這 漠 漠 黃 沙 中 , 堅 持 屹 立 了 幾 千 年 的 文 明 , 這 久 遠 而 神
秘 的 古 老 文 明 , 要 告 訴 我 們 的 是 甚 麼
「 一 去 紫 臺 連 朔 漠 , 獨 留 青 塚 向 黃 昏 」── 走 過
了 歷 史 , 走 過 了 眾 多 神 廟 。 好 像 , 冥 冥 之 中 一 切 自 有 天
意 。 點 綴 在 蒼 茫 沙 漠 中 的 古 老 神 廟 , 像 是 神 指 尖 彈 起 的
幾 粒 黃 沙 。 人 的 歷 史 在 黃 沙 中 湮 沒 , 神 的 囑 託 永 恆 地 屹
立 在 亙 宇 之 中 。

a sanatorium within
the temple grounds —
furnished with benches
for the sick waiting for
cures by the priests.
Supplicants would stay
overnight hoping to
have a healing dream
of the goddess.
Egypt’s best-known
attraction may well be
the Great Pyramid of
Giza — the lone surviving
member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient
World. But cruise the Nile River between Luxor and
Aswan, and you see many ancient temples rising up in
the baking desert, just as astonishing for their mystery
and beauty.
Karnak Temple in the city of Luxor is truly awe-inspiring.
One of the world’s largest sacred sites, covering
more than 60 acres, it’s filled with sphinxes, obelisks,
shrines and gigantic statues of pharaohs. Dedicated
to the sun god Amun-Ra, it was first built more than
3,500 years ago and added onto by 30 successive pharaohs.
We’re struck by the dizzying jungle of 134 colossal
papyrus-shaped columns in the Hypostyle Hall.
Queen Hatshepsut’s 29-metre tall obelisk, sculpted
from a single piece of pink granite and weighing over
320 tons, traveled hundreds of miles from the distant
quarries at Aswan. Our guide suggests it may have
been floated down the Nile during an annual flood.
Then there’s Komombo Temple, the temple of healing,
where our guide points out a wall relief showing
surgical scissors, a scalpel, dental pliers and two women
sitting on birthing chairs. And Edfu Temple, the temple
of learning, with etchings of the scribes and students
who studied architecture and engineering here.
Still, our favourite is the temple where roosting
birds now sing and the promise of each new day is
chronicled – Cleopatra’s temple of love.
