band was observed in F. pratensis. The rest of studied species gave a multi-band pattern<br />

that confirmed their distinctiveness. Restriction digestions were carried out only for<br />

species that amplified a single band. Restriction maps consisted from sites specific to<br />

five enzymes, AluI, HinfI, HindIII, MspI and TaqI. The number of sites ranged from 13 in<br />

L. loliaceum to 17 in F. pratensis. The majority of sites were common for all or for the most<br />

of species (Figure 8.3). F. pratensis had only one unique TaqI site i.e., not observed in
