o During regular business hours, Probation staff/administrators will keep in regular<br />
contact with Family Court Personnel, Law Enforcement and the Attorney General<br />
Office in order to coordinate any essential Supervision plans related to youth<br />
remaining in the Community<br />
o During regular business hours, Probation staff/administrators will keep in regular<br />
contact with staff/administrators at the Rhode Island Trainings on issues related to<br />
the Detention, Sentencing and Release, <strong>of</strong> youth within the Juvenile Correctional<br />
Services.<br />
o Maintain contact with providers with children in placement on a regular basis.<br />
Probation Workforce Requirements<br />
At a minimum each <strong>of</strong> the five Probation Supervisory Units should be staffed with one<br />
supervisor (or designee) and one Probation Officer for a total <strong>of</strong> 11 staff to cover the<br />
entire state. These staff will be responsible for routine (phone) contact with probation<br />
youth, as well as addressing emergency service needs such as placements, placement<br />
removals and other essential orders made through the Family Court.<br />
The need for support staff will be directly related to the level <strong>of</strong> restrictions that the<br />
authorities put in place.<br />
Though reporting to an <strong>of</strong>fice may be advisable this workforce will need to have use <strong>of</strong><br />
laptop computers and/or be allowed <strong>RI</strong>CHIST and Group Wise access from home<br />
computers.<br />
