understanding for the DCYF system, roles and<br />

3 day training designed to develop an understanding <strong>of</strong> the<br />

dynamics <strong>of</strong> adolescent pregnancy and parenting as it relates<br />

to service planning. Information addresses agency policy,<br />

ways to engage teen dads, assessment <strong>of</strong> the teen parent; and<br />

engaging teen parents in service planning as it relates to<br />

effective parenting practices.<br />

3 day training designed to enhance knowledge and skills<br />

relating to parental substance abuse as it relates to appropriate<br />

referral for services and development <strong>of</strong> the service plan.<br />

A new series <strong>of</strong> Core II training modules for the Social Caseworker II<br />

classification was implemented at the Child Welfare Institute this past year as an<br />

enhancement to the in-service curriculum. There are 15 new modules which, combined,<br />

provide a total <strong>of</strong> 450 hours <strong>of</strong> instruction. The new modules are listed as follows:<br />
