3 hour training relating to <strong>RI</strong>CHIST (SACWIS) data system for<br />
maintaining case information; review <strong>of</strong> case history; recording<br />
personal information; e.g., aka names, address tab, relationship<br />
tab, maintain participant information window, red flag; and adding<br />
participants to cases; e.g., search, create a person, complete<br />
participant information, activate participant and update living<br />
arrangements.<br />
3 day workshop providing an overview <strong>of</strong> normative development<br />
in infancy, childhood and adolescence as a guide in the assessment<br />
and service planning for families in which abuse and/or neglect<br />
has occurred.<br />
Community Partners Resource Fair – 6 hours – <strong>of</strong>fers a blend <strong>of</strong><br />
service providers and contracted community partners to inform<br />
participants <strong>of</strong> resources in the community.<br />
Poverty Institute – 6 hour training – addresses the federal financial<br />
and medical programs to assist families when children are<br />
removed and reunified. Also addresses resources available to<br />
ensure healthy family life.<br />
<strong>RI</strong> Foster Parents Assn. – 3 hour training – identifies the support<br />
system for foster parents and the resources available to them and<br />
foster children.<br />
6 hour training – develops an understanding <strong>of</strong> court terminology;<br />
the roles <strong>of</strong> the participants in court proceedings. Provides<br />
examples <strong>of</strong> court letters and writing exercise with emphasis on a<br />
clear and concise outline.<br />
3 hour site visit to Family Court to provide understanding that<br />
Family Court is an integral part <strong>of</strong> the child welfare practice. The<br />
visit provides social workers with a view <strong>of</strong> court proceedings and<br />
introduction to judges.<br />

and Juvenile Court. Develops understanding <strong>of</strong> case activity notes<br />

for most other written work: service plans, assessments, social<br />
summaries, and court letters.<br />
