SCHEMES OF SERVICE FOR THE NURSING CADRE

Key Result Areas
(a) All persons in communities, irrespective of their economic levels,
can access reasonable and adequate health care services.
(b) No irregularities in the use of allocated resources.
(c) Disease prevalence has drastically reduced as a result of
addressing priority PHC activities, supporting health education
programmes, and participating in disease surveillance
programmes
(d) High levels of health care literacy and improved health of persons
at community level resulting from implementation of health
education programmes
(e) Research has contributed to the body of knowledge, and led to
innovations that are beneficial to the profession
Person Specifications
A. Qualifications
(i) A Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from a recognized
University or Institution.
(ii) A post graduate diploma in Public Health Nursing from a
recognized institution
(iii) Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives
Council
(iv) A minimum of six years work experience, three (3) of which
should be at the level of Senior Public Health Nurse
