Key Result Areas
(a) Enrolled nurse available at designated times to do ward rounds
(b) Good reception of patients
(c) Meals available to patients
(d) No instances of infections that result from poor handling of
instruments
(e) Zero tolerance for unethical conduct has been set; nurses
adequately appreciate and realise that unethical conduct leads to
adverse consequences
(f) Reduction in patient complaints, and speedy resolution of
problems highlighted by patients
(g) Reasonable reduction in infections due to implementation of
infection control guidelines
(h) Reduction in disease recurrences among patients and their
attendants that receive health education from enrolled nurse
Person Specifications
A. Qualifications
(i) Must have Enrolled / Comprehensive Nursing Certificate from a
recognized institution.
(ii) Must be registered with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives
Council
B. Required Competencies
i) Behavioural Competencies
Communicating effectively
Able to verbally communicate ideas to individuals and small
groups in a manner that fosters understanding and discussion.
Listens in order to understand and responds to things that appear
important to others.
Is receptive and pays attention to the emotion in body language,
facial expression and tone of voice.
Shows respect by giving attention to the speaker and uses a
respective tone when speaking to others.
