Patient cable or sensor is<br />

disconnected from the oximeter.<br />

Sensor is incorrectly positioned on<br />

Check sensor connections to the<br />

patient cable and to the oximeter.<br />

Reposition the sensor.<br />

The pulse rate is<br />

erratic, intermittent,<br />

or incorrect.<br />

SpO 2 value is erratic,<br />

intermittent, or<br />

incorrect.<br />

Poor patient perfusion.<br />

Defective sensor or patient cable.<br />

The SpO 2 sensor is improperly<br />

positioned on the patient.<br />

The patient is experiencing poor<br />

perfusion.<br />

The patient is moving too much.<br />

There is too much ambient light<br />

around the SpO 2 sensor.<br />

Defective sensor or patient cable.<br />

Poor patient perfusion.<br />

Patient motion.<br />

Defective sensor or patient cable.<br />

Reposition the sensor.<br />

Try a new sensor or contact your<br />

authorized service representative<br />

for help.<br />

Reposition the sensor on the<br />

patient.<br />

Confirm signal level with PI and<br />

signal bar graphs. Reposition the<br />

sensor on the patient.<br />

Make sure that the patient remains<br />

still. Place the extremity on a pillow<br />

that acts as a buffer to motion.<br />

Shield the SpO 2<br />

sensor with a<br />

towel.<br />

Try a new sensor or contact your<br />

authorized service representative<br />

for help.<br />

Confirm signal level with PI and<br />

signal bar graphs.<br />

Reposition the sensor on the<br />

patient. Patient must remain still to<br />

obtain an accurate measurement.<br />
