Code 90-20-460 provides<br />

delegated unless permitted<br />

by Part 54.1-3400 <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Code <strong>of</strong> Virg<strong>in</strong>ia.<br />

However, the Dept <strong>of</strong><br />

Education has established<br />

procedures <strong>in</strong>dicat<strong>in</strong>g that<br />

UAPs may adm<strong>in</strong>ister<br />

diazepam (see next<br />

column).<br />

that “Any school personnel who<br />

cover<strong>in</strong>g the student’s specific<br />

needs, potential problems and<br />

implementation <strong>of</strong> the established<br />

emergency plan.” Guidel<strong>in</strong>es on<br />

who may adm<strong>in</strong>ister shall be<br />

<strong>in</strong>cluded <strong>in</strong> the student’s<br />

<strong>in</strong>dividualized health plan.<br />

UAPs. These laws and policies are noted <strong>in</strong> bold text, along <strong>with</strong> laws and polices that expressly reference<br />

diazepam rectal gel or other rectally-adm<strong>in</strong>istered medication (<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g those that restrict adm<strong>in</strong>istration by<br />
