are required to help manage tourism in the area so
that the economic health of the community is
promoted without causing damage to the
environment. The National Park Authority works to
ensure that the organisations involved in the
production of the plans and strategies are made
aware of the special needs of the National Park. The
publication of the new National Park Management
Plan for the Peak District in 2007 will place further
emphasis on the need for partners to work together
to ensure conservation of the area for future
generations.
up in order to promote and manage tourism in the
area, for example Visit Peak District and the Peak
District and Derbyshire Destination Management
produced by tourism for the local economy and
improve the experience of the visitor. The National
Park Authority, as a member of both these groups,
provides the voice for the conservation of the Park.
