Today the university has three faculties and around10,000 stu<strong>de</strong>nts; 20 per c<strong>en</strong>t of whom are international coming frommore than 90 differ<strong>en</strong>t countries. The focal point of the campus isthe beautiful Hoh<strong>en</strong>heim Castle surroun<strong>de</strong>d by a spacious park andbotanical gar<strong>de</strong>n. The University of Hoh<strong>en</strong>heim is one of Europe’sics.in economic analysis and quantitative methods to address real-worldpolicy issues related to agriculture, food and the <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>t. Globalisation,sustainability, poverty, food security, food safety, agriculturalpolicy reform and rural <strong>de</strong>velopm<strong>en</strong>t are typical issues that are beinganalysed using innovative methodologies.with a writt<strong>en</strong> or oral exam. Thethesis can pursue empirical or theoretical questions related to ongoingresearch projects, but stu<strong>de</strong>nts’ own initiatives and i<strong>de</strong>as are alsowelcome.Outstanding stu<strong>de</strong>nts and professionals interested in internationalissues and pursuing a career in policy analysis related to agriculture,food, the <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>t, and rural <strong>de</strong>velopm<strong>en</strong>t.English• An above-average B.Sc. <strong>de</strong>gree in agricultural sci<strong>en</strong>ces, economicsor a related discipline following at least three years of universitystudies.• Basic un<strong>de</strong>rstanding of micro and macroeconomics, a solid backgroundin mathematics, statistics and computer literacy.• Good knowledge of the English language (If English is not the nativelanguage, a TOEFL score of no less than 550 points/paper based(213 points/computer based) or IELTS no less than Band 6.0.).79
