Engineering and Related Sci<strong>en</strong>cesResources Engineering – a water-ori<strong>en</strong>ted Master Study ProgrammeTarget groupCourse languageEntry requirem<strong>en</strong>tsDegree awar<strong>de</strong>dCourse beginsCompulsory supplem<strong>en</strong>tary programme “International Projects”(Begleitstudium, 15 CP). The supplem<strong>en</strong>tary programme comprisesthree compulsory modules (6 CP, 6 CP and 3 CP) that shall <strong>en</strong>surecompet<strong>en</strong>cies that are indisp<strong>en</strong>sable for contributing to internationalteam projects. Relevant compet<strong>en</strong>cies will be taught at a profession-pleteteam projects in variant cultural contexts.Completing Module 8 “International Communication” inclu<strong>de</strong>s pass-is a prerequisite for admission to module examinations of the secondsemester of “Resources Engineering” and, thus, for the continuation ofthe DAAD scholarship as well.Compulsory elective modules (15 CP). In the second and thirdsemester stu<strong>de</strong>nts will choose three compulsory elective modules fortheir individual specialisation. Stu<strong>de</strong>nts may also choose additionalmodules for further specialisation.Master thesis (30 CP). During the fourth semester, stu<strong>de</strong>nts will writea thesis to <strong>de</strong>monstrate their ability to analyse <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>tal systemateapproach for a solution to a giv<strong>en</strong> problem.Graduates of Bachelor study programmes or of an equival<strong>en</strong>t studyprogramme with a standard study period of three years who haveearned at least 180 CP acc. to ECTS in a disciplinary sector of theDepartm<strong>en</strong>t of Civil Engineering, Geo- and Environm<strong>en</strong>tal Sci<strong>en</strong>ces atKIT; andGraduates of Bachelor study programmes in subjects not offered atthe Departm<strong>en</strong>t of Civil Engineering, Geo- and Environm<strong>en</strong>tal Sci<strong>en</strong>cesat KIT – provi<strong>de</strong>d they earned above average gra<strong>de</strong>s in subjects incivil <strong>en</strong>gineering, geo- and <strong>en</strong>vironm<strong>en</strong>tal sci<strong>en</strong>ces.English and GermanCompulsory lecture courses are offered in English, whereas mostcompulsory elective lecture courses are offered in German.
