The new campus, which the university has shared withthe Flensburg University of Applied Sciences since 2002, offers all thefacilities that you can expect from a modern university, including studentaccommodation. The Energy and Environmental Managementcourse is part of the International Institute of Management, which islocated outside the campus, just a 5-minute walk from the city centre.Founded in 1946, Flensburg University is a small, young universitywith approximately 4500 students. The energy sector isone of the key sectors that needs to achieve sustainable developmentand growth, within both developing and industrialised countries.Sustainable energy systems for social and economic development arethe focus of the 18-month Master Programme “Energy and EnvironmentalManagement in Developing Countries”. The course of studiesleads to the degree of a “Master of Engineering in Energy and EnvironmentalManagement” (Industrial Engineering). This degree entitlesits holder to the professional title of “Wirtschaftsingenieurin” or“Wirtschaftsingenieur”, which is legally protected in Germany.energy industry, governments, NGOs and international organisations.tivesof sustainable development in industrialised and in developingcountries, the programme offers two branches of specialisation: “Energyand Environmental Management in Industrialised Countries” and“Energy and Environmental Management in Developing Countries”.Both specialisations offer a thorough training in energy and environmentaleconomics, energy technology and energy management.
