Instructions10. Print each table on a separate sheet. Number the tables consecutively and useArabic numerals. Each table must be cited in sequence at an appropriate pointin the text. Each table has to have a caption. These should be brief yet indicateclosely the purpose or content <strong>of</strong> the table. Each column should be preciselydefined by headings. Abbreviations and special designations should be explainedin a footnote to the table.11. The term figure includes all types <strong>of</strong> illustrations such as graphs, diagrams,photographs, flow charts, and line drawings. Figures must be cited consecutivelyin the text with Arabic numerals. Figures should be 12.5 cm by 17.5 cm (5 inchesby 7 inches). Consistency in size is strongly preferred. Any special instructionsregarding sizing should be clearly noted. Freehand lettering on the figure isnot acceptable. All lettering must be in proportion to the drawing, graph, orphotograph. Figure legends should not appear on the figure. Multiple figures ona page cannot be accepted.All figures must be submitted in triplicate. Illustrations should be pr<strong>of</strong>essionallydrawn. Photographs must be sharp and glossy. Do not send negatives or originalartwork. Each figure or photograph should have a label on its back indicatingauthor’s name, figure number and its top (indicated by an arrow).13. Direct quotations, tables, or figures that have appeared in copyrighted materialmust be accompanied by written permission for their use from the copyrightowner and original author along with complete reference information.14. Author(s) is/are responsible for all the statements made in his/their workincluding changes made by the copy editor.Preparation <strong>of</strong> CDThe manuscript title page, abstract and key words, text, acknowledgements andreferences should be in one file, which can be edited with Micros<strong>of</strong>t Word 2002.Individual tables (if any) should be in a file called tables.doc, and legends <strong>of</strong> figures(if any) should be in one file called legends.doc.Figures are encouraged in electronic format with a printed pro<strong>of</strong> on glossy orhigh-quality photographic printer paper.Manuscripts or CDs should be mailed to the Editorial BoardIf submitted electronically use the same guidelines for preparation <strong>of</strong> manuscriptsand submit to The Editorial Board.<strong>FIMA</strong> <strong>Year</strong><strong>Book</strong> <strong>2009</strong>174
