4 INSTRUMENT SETUPUnpack the instrument as previously described on page v.SAVE THE BOXES AND ALL PACKING MATERIALS. IF THEUNIT IS SHIPPED FOR ANY REASON, THE INSTRUMENTMUST BE SHIPPED IN ITS PROTECTIVE PACKAGINGMATERIALS.Check the packing list with the MAX-1000 to ensure that all items have been received.Remove the instrument from its protective wrapping, and place it on a firm, level worksurface. Be sure there is enough clearance at the back for the power cord, and abovethe unit, for the cover. If the instrument is cold, for example if received in coldweather, it may need to warm up to room temperature to allow the display and otherelectronics to work properly.10
